Elemental
Spirits?
I
am starting to wonder more and more if it is possible that the many
ghostly faces that we and other ghost hunters, as well as other
individuals capture on film, could be "Elemental Spirits".
As outrageous and unbelievable as this may sound, it kind of makes
perfect sense to me how it could be possible. In many pictures we
will capture ghostly, monsterous, demonic and some times even "alien-esque"
looking faces that seem as though they are blending in with tombstones,
trees, walls, the ground and other surfaces. Many times they will
obviously appear to be coming out or off of these surfaces. In my
opinion, this more than proves they are not merely "illusions",
trick of the light, pixelations or our imaginations in all cases,
as some (even paranormal investigators, ghost hunters and parapsychologists)
will claim. We have even captured pictures in cemeteries of, what
might appear to be a tombstone at first glance. It will seem to
have a similar color, shape and/or texture of a tombstone, but we
KNOW there wasn't a tombstone there and there are faces or figures
coming off of it. So, this begs the question - Is it possible that
these are elemental spirits, shapeshifting into whatever given surface,
as to blend in and observe us and/or hide from us? Two very good
examples of what I am trying to explain can be seen on our Chestnut
Grove Cemetery Investigation page. Look at the "Misery
And The Beast" and "The Boogie Man" photos.
For
those who don't know, Elemental Spirits are believed to be the earths
natural spirits. They are shape shifters so to speak, who are said
to take the form of many things, ranging from fire and water to
smoke and trees. They are also said to be VERY powerful spirits
and nothing to mess with, but they can be helpful as well. This
is all speculation of course. Or is it?....

"Sensitives"
Between
our ghost chat and emails people share a lot of stories and experiences
with us and the 2 things we hear most is, "I see/hear/feel
dead people" and "Something keeps pinning me down to my
bed and I can't move". Neither of these things have anything
to do with one another of course, but both seem to be an epidemic.
As far as the people who say they are "sensitive" or tell
us that they see/hear/feel dead people go, I have derived at 3 different
theories for them. As you may or may not know, doctors pretty much
just chalk these symptoms up as schizophrenia. Well, I can personally
attest that I have without a doubt witnessed a pattern in pretty
much every person I have ever spoke with who says that they see/hear/feel
dead people.... They have been diagnosed with SOME sort of mental
illness. They always say they have been diagnosed with schizophrenia,
bipolar disorder, manic depression or all of the above. I feel that
the very few (probably 2 people out of dozens) who said they do
not have any sort of mental ailment have either just not been diagnosed
with it yet or they were lying.
"Schizotypal
Personality Disorder" is another condition that fits the description
of a sensitive person to the T. Here is what we learned about this
condition:
Diagnostic
Criteria:
A. A pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal deficits
marked by acute discomfort with, and reduced capacity for, close
relationships as well as by cognitive or perceptual distortions
and eccentricities of behavior, beginning by early adulthood and
present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more)
of the following:
1)
Ideas of reference (excluding delusions of reference)
2) Odd beliefs or magical thinking that influences behavior
and is inconsistent with subcultural norms (e.g., superstitiousness,
belief in clairvoyance, telepathy, or "sixth sense"; in
children and adolescents, bizarre fantasies or preoccupations)
3) Unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions
4) Odd thinking and speech (e.g., vague, circumstantial,
metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped)
5) Suspiciousness or paranoid ideation
6) Inappropriate or constricted affect
7) Behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar
8) Lack of close friends or confidants other than first-degree
relatives
9) Excessive social anxiety that does not diminish with familiarity
and tends to be associated with paranoid fears rather than negative
judgments about self
B.
Does not occur exclusively during the course of Schizophrenia, a
Mood Disorder With Psychotic Features, another Psychotic Disorder,
or a Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
Note: If criteria are met prior to the onset of Schizophrenia, add
"Premorbid," e.g., "Schizotypal Personality Disorder
(Premorbid)."
Differential
Diagnosis:
Delusional Disorder; Schizophrenia; Mood Disorder With Psychotic
Features; Autistic Disorder; Asperger's Disorder; Expressive and
Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorders; Communication Disorders;
Personality Change Due to a General Medical Condition; symptoms
that may develop in association with chronic substance use; Paranoid
Personality Disorder; Schizoid Personality Disorder; Avoidant Personality
Disorder; Narcissistic Personality Disorder; Borderline Personality
Disorder; Schizotypal features during adolescence.
In any case, I have seen a pattern with sensitives first hand and
as I mentioned, I have derived at 3 possible theories. However,
either way I am convinced that the seeing, hearing and feeling of
dead people is directly attributed to a mental illness. They are
as follows:
1)
Consider the fact that mental illnesses, such as the ones mentioned
above, can cause excessive energy and mixed emotions among other
things of course. Well, seeing how spirits are believed to "feed"
off of energy and emotions, it seems that a person with one of these
mental illnesses would be a pretty good source of energy and emotions,
doesn't it? Not to mention, spirits (especially mallevolent ones)
have been found to target people who "have their guard down"
or aren't feeling quite right due to lack of sleep, illness, being
under the influence of drugs or alchohol or whatever the case may
be. There have been many documented and proven cases where people
(even experienced paranormal investigators that we personally know)
have become possessed, because their guard was down. So, is it possible
that spirits could target people with mental illnesses?
2)
Could it be that people with mental illnesses see/hear/feel things
in a different way than "normal" people? As we know, small
children and animals have repeatedly been found to be more aware
of spirit activity than others. One theory on that phenomenon is
that children have not yet been programmed to believe that ghosts
do not exist and animals are believed to see things in a different
spectrum than humans. Spirits are in turn thought to be made up
of a different spectrum, which is not viewable in the spectrum in
which we humans see. That is one of the reasons we think they show
up in photos and videos moreso than being seen with the naked eye.
It is thought that perhaps a camera's lens is able to see things
more perfectly than the human eye, which considering today's technology,
that is very understandable. So, back to my point.... Could certain
mental illnesses cause a person to see things in a different spectrum?
Are they more open and suseptable to the things around us?
3)
The doctors are right. The symptoms that sensitives describe are
the effects of their mental illness. Here are some symptoms of schizophrenia:
Delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, psychosis and
paranoia.
An
SHGHRS Strange Finding
Awhile
back we investigated a private residence and it just so happens
that the man of the house has schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and
manic depression. Well, the lady of the house told us that one night
her husband had woke up in the middle of the night hearing children
laughing and playing, so he got up and looked out their back window
and saw just that.... Children laughing and playing in the backyard.
The next day the lady of the house phoned his doctor and told him
about the incident and the doctor said, "he must be hallucinating,
we better switch his medication around". Well, strangely, during
our investigation we captured some of the most fascinating electronic
voice phenomenon we have yet to ever hear and guess what.... Many
of the voices on the recordings were children talking! Could it
be that the poor guy isn't as crazy as they might think or is it
just a coincidence?
By
the way, the EVP's we recorded that night can be heard in our reports
from our "A
Spirit I Have Investigation".
May

The
new SHGHRS team has been extremely busy doing investigations, reviewing
evidence and puting TONS of updates on the site! We have made lots
of incredible new discoveries and we're very disapointed in the
amount of people (other paranormal investigators especially) that
are failing to see some of the blatantly obvious evidence we have
recently presented. We have came to a few conclusions about why
the majority of ghost hunter websites are contaminated with little
more than orb photos and the occasional ecto. On May 21st I posted
an article about this problem and we urge everyone to take a couple
moments to read it. The article can be seen Here!
