|
|
They did a study on psychic healers to see what actually happens during a session and found that the electromagnetic field of the patient is aligned with magnetic north during the session. So does the EMF monitor only look for rises in the fields, high activity, or does it also look for alignment anomalies that either coincide with, or that variate radically from magnetic north?
Would it be possible to monitor an entire area and track an anomaly in magnetic alignment if it showed movement? |

Who did this study and where can their reports be seen?

When we monitor EMF's, we are typically looking for sudden spikes or dramatic fluctuations. Traditionally, spikes that reach the 0 - 2 milligauss range are said to be anamolous if no other logical explanations can be found. Though, we usually don't have to look very far for explanations. Especially indoors!
EMF meters do not give any sort of "alignment" readings like you are describing. Some people do say that a compass needle will point to due north if spirit energy is present....

If spirit energy does indeed have an effect on electromagnetic fields and you have enough EMF detectors placed around the targeted area, I don't see why ya wouldn't be able to chart its movement I guess. Most EMF meters only have a range of a few feet.

Ahem, Aedryan. Compass needles ALWAYS point north. That is why they are on a compass. It doesn't matter if there is a spirit present or not, magnetic north is magnetic north.
There are areas that have magnetic field anomalies that have been charted all over the earth and they will cause a compass needle to deviate from true magnetic north. If you ever look at a nautical chart it has a lot of rose compasses in sections of the world where there are a lot of those variances. I have seen a compass rose give directions to correct compass readings for as much as 14 degrees in either direction.
So first it would have to be determined if an area being investigated is magnetically neutral. No deviations from true magnetic north that would require correction of compass readings.
Okay, so say you walk out an area in a grid and determine that the compass doesn't deviate from north in any part of the grid. And then say you get activity readings from some of your machines and when you walk the grid again, the compass starts deviating.
I am wondering if there would be a way to setup compasses in a grid and then have something like a closed switch type of setup where if the needle moves from north it opens the switch and breaks the contact. Something like that might provide a way to track an anomaly if one suddenly showed up.
To prevent electricity from interfering with the readings, it could just be a simple continuity test. Each compass has a loop of wire running from the continuity tester back to either end of the contacts. If continuity is lost the needle on the magnet moved and took that half of the contact with it.
Hopefully I have explained this okay and don't have to draw pictures or anything. |

Yeah, duh! I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that.... lol Actually what they say is (whoever "they" are.... lol), the needle will turn the needle at least 30-35 degrees away from magnetic North. Others claim that profoundly haunted sites have shown needle-swings of up to 90 degrees.
As for the MacGyverism you are describing, I am kinda at a loss.... lol I'm sure Frank would be able to offer some insight though.
