Let me start off by saying that I live near Tinkers Creek. It is a ten minute drive and yet I have never gone to the cemetery!
After reading about it here and having a vacation day to do some exploring, my family and I headed out. Sure it was daylight, but what the heck.
It didn't disappoint. It was sunny and VERY humid. The overall feeling was dreadfully cheery (if that can describe it).
We all wandered around, everyone doing their own thing. My son then announced he had heard a hiss come from one of the tombstones. Indeed this was the most interesting one and the one I was saving to look at for last.
This is the crooked, black tombstone near the front of the cemetery. It has a divit the size and shape of a coffin in front of it.
Since Mike has had some strange things happen to him, I believe he heard something. He later said it happened twice.
I did not get spooked until the end and then felt something pushing on me. Mike said he felt something on him and described where he felt it and it was the exact same spot on my back. Even my husband, who loves stuff like this but usually does not "feel" things too often, felt Something was there. We both felt like we were being watched and it was not a friendly feeling towards the end.
I can only imagine what it is like in the dark. Has anyone else gone during the day and had the same feelings? |

Strangely, Tinkers Creek Cemetery is one of the places we go to where none of us ever really get any kind of "wierded out" feeling. However, the very first time we went there it was still daylight when we got there and when we were getting ready to unpack our equipment I distinctively heard "something" stomping its feet on the ground right next to me repeatedly, as I was walking over to the area where I has set my stuff down. Twas definitely pretty wierd....

After talking more to my family, only my husband felt anything really disturbing. Even Mike (the one who heard the hissing) was more bothered why only he heard it and not his twin.
Do you know what is on the top of the hill past the broken wagon? I am curious why they mow the grass up there too.
I still can not believe I have lived here nearly 45 years and have not been there before! |

I'm not sure. I know a couple of our old members had walked up there and looked around, because I remember them talking about an old wagon, but I wasn't ever up there.
Other than EVP's, the only REALLY good evidence we captured up there was at the Gleeson Farm, around the house.

Now THAT is one heck of a place. My grandparents used to live down the road from there and every time since I can remember, it spooked me. It has never failed to catch my attention.
It was open the other day for construction and I got a small peak inside while driving by.
I always wanted to buy that house. |

This post caught my attention because my ex-husband just recently passed (on the 25th of last month.) I took the kids to the cemetery today for the first time since the funeral, and being that it is a HUGE cemetery, I couldn't exactly remember where he'd been buried. So I stopped the car and got out, telling the kids we'd just have to walk around till we found it. Oddly enough, I had stopped the car right beside my ex's grave and was standing over it while asking my little boy where he thought it was. He just looked at me kind of funny, rolled his eyes, and said "You're standing right in front of it mom."
We did our visiting, said our goodbyes, and the kids ran in front of me to check out some more graves before heading back to the car. On the way to catch up with them, I distinctly heard the sound of heavy foot steps crunching the grass close behind me...
I KNOW I heard it!

Did it give you the willies? Do you think it was him or could it have been anybody? _________________ Frank Ratka
