The Night the House Took Over

I used the same title I gave it for the English essay I wrote for college. This is a true event. Please excuse the wordiness of it...

On one of our rounds we decided to go to the attic. I took up the rear position. Halfway up the stairs I felt something squeeze my arm and gently push me, as if to be trying to look around me at what was going on. Little did I know that this was only the beginning; the house had planned a far more sinister event for later in the evening. It came time for us to tear down the equipment. The group leader and I went to retrieve her video camera from the back bedroom. I suggested that more then The group leader and I should go up to get the camera, but this landed on deaf ears. At one point I asked her if we could please just wait a little before going up. She said, “We don’t have time to wait.” We reached the long hall to the back bedroom I said, “This is a bad idea.” The next thing I remember I was standing at the far end of the hall. The group leader was looking at me with a scowl on her face. I asked her, “What’s wrong? She screamed at me, “You threw me against the wall and punched me.” I was shocked, I had no idea I did that. She entered the back room to retrieve her video camera. As I stood in the doorway of the room waiting for her, I had an uneasy feeling. I turned to look down the hall and there stood a dark shadow before me. I screamed, “No”, but it was too late the shadowy figure walked through me taking my breath away. I began to shake and yelled at The group leader, “it’s time to leave now; I am going with or without you.” She hastily grabbed her equipment and followed me down the stairs.
The finale for the evening was the Spirit Circle. They, in their infinite wisdom, decided to hold the Spirit Circle in the back hall. I still joined them; don’t ask me why, I would have to say I was either suffering from morbid curiosity or stupidity. Anyhow, we had begun the Spirit Circle. Unbeknownst to me, I had chosen to sit next to the man who did channeling. Suddenly, I felt his arm tense up, he turned, glaring at me and yelled, “GET OUT!” Followed by, “It’s not yours and you can’t have it” in a voice that was not his own. Next thing I did was move tight against The group leader. At the completion of the Spirit Circle, we packed our gear and left the house. To this day I have not been back in the house

Wow that's intense. I've never been to a house like that.
