| about the boy the movie the exorcist was based on? Where did it really take place, and is the boy still alive? I did hear on tv one time, that the journal of his exorcism was found in the wall of the abandoned wing where the exorcism was performed. Just curious... |

The place they got credit for him living Bunker Hill Road and 33rd Street right in the residential heart of Mount Rainier Maryland, but he lived in Cottage City Maryland. It was said he graduate from Gonzaga High and turned out fine.
Exocism was done in St. Louis in 1945 by Rev. William S. Bowdern, S.J. They did have a 26 page exorcist diary, but it was by the priests and not the boy. The 26-page diary of the case that was literally snatched out of the old Alexian Brothers on South Broadway in St. Louis in the old psychiatric wing of the hospital just before it was demolished.
Only details there is on the case have come through the diary, and from witnesses who were present at the time. The Catholic Church has never released details of the story. _________________

i did some googling last night, and the whole thing about the boy is a hoax from what i get. the address was wrong where this was supposed to have taken place, and apparently, the boy was just plain old mean as a snake, and was influenced by the females in the family who dabbled with the ouija.
But still, I have to wonder. What about all the stuff that happened on the set of the exorcist? The strange accidents. No one can explain those things away as far as I know.
Will continue to do some more research. i don't know why, but now that the seed has been planted. I have to know the truth. |

I never heard of it being a hoax persay, What i've always heard was that the boy wasn't posssessed like they thought that he was mentally ill and seeing, hearing things. That they thought was caused by him being possessed.
On investigations though i have seen some people change and do stuff they normally wouldn't do. We have had members say they was some one else. If i hadn't been there when it happen and watching as a video or reading a story, journal. i wouldn't believe it myself. _________________

The Exorcist is my favorite movie of all time!
According to William Peter Blatty - The author of the original book - "The Exorcist", there were actually five known copies of the diary in existence at that time: Two were in the possession of people who watched over the boy; copies were in the archives of two separate archdioceses; and one was in the files of an unnamed public city hospital where the boy had stayed. (It has since been determined that there are several other copies floating around out there among private collectors.) Blatty maintains that he did indeed eventually read the diary and based much of his book and movie on that material, though he does not reveal how he came upon his copy. There is a lot of speculation about what town/state these events actually happened in to. I don't think anyone really knows for sure....
If any of you haven't ever seen the extras on the DVD, you should rent it! There were definitely a lot of strange coincidences, surrounding the making of the movie, which they talk about in the extras.

I must say that i agree with Aedryan this movie rock's!!!
(and i hope we are talking the orginal here Aedryan)
I did really like the Exorcism of Emily Rose and not just because of the Paranormal side of it but the actual investigation that went on. How somethings either way you look at them can't quite be explained.......Like ok so they said she was Elliptic, but yet the Priest swore she was possessed so even though the movie gave you the explanations it still left you wondering Who was right....Was she really possessed or did she have Ellipse. I could probably rant about this movie all day but i will spare you my chit chat....
It's strange how it can make you think, how it can effect the way you see things.....something as simple as a movie!

Yeah, we're talking about the original movie - The Exorcist, Em. All of the Exocist sequels sucked, unfortunately!
The Exorcism of Emily Rose was pretty good too, but it was no Exorcist! _________________

Exorcism of Emily Rose really wasn't part of exorcist. I remember going to that movie, we got free tickets to the premeir, still have all the flyers and some of the tickets. lol wonder if they let us go watch another movie with those tickets?
Exorcism of Emily Rose was based on a true story, she lived i think was Russia, The priest though didn't get off like in the movie, he went to prison. _________________

Hell yeah the sequels SUCKED!! I love the original…thats what i was saying before sometimes you gotta just watch the classics.
I have done a bit of background work on the story and even though it looks at it in a scientific way it still has to many things to doubt on both sides. That’s why the movie was good.....but like said before NO EXORCIST! |
