I have always been interested in the Amityville story. I'm just wondering if there is anyone here that believes the story is true and if there ever were any paranormal investigations done at the house if anyone knows of?

Yeah, the good ole Warrens investigated the house and made all kinds of outrageous claims, such as witnessing the stone lion statues coming to life and running around.... Rolling Eyes

Personally, I think the entire Amityville story was a hoax. I think Ron DeFeo either just fabricated the entire story in an attempt to get away with murder or he was just plain crazy and he really thought demons were influencing him, etc. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what the Lutz's motives were for further adding to the hoax. They signed a book and movie contract one month after "fleeing" from the house....

Hi Everyone,

I love this story but I have to admit that I put it where it belongs…hoax!! I have read the story so many times, and I have read different versions as well. Some contradict each other but mostly it’s the same deal, the House told Ron DeFeo to kill his family, but I have also read the investigation the police did when they got called to the house on Ocean Avenue in Amityville. I think from reading the actual investigation it made me see that this was some deranged lunatic killing not someone who was possessed (he tried to cover his tracks). If you want to have a read of the investigation let me know and I can post the link for you.

hey ghost... I think if you watch the latest frabrication of the movie, there is a section in the special features that does this whole documentary on the place, and the story of the murders, and the suspected hauntings.

It was a good story, but there was enough evidence to prove it was a hoax.
