Some years back I was having a bit of a problem
with my 5 year old daughter. She had been
very moody for a couple of weeks. So one night
I put her in my bedroom to sleep for the night.
But first I hid a mini tape recorder in the room
next to the bed. The reason I did this is because
my daughter is a only child so she would talk
to herself alot. I thought maybe by putting a
recorder in there with her she might spill the
beans to what was bothering her. Anyways, to make
a long story short. After about 2 hours I went in
and retrieved the recorder. At first all I hear was
her playing with our cat Patches. Then a little later
I heard her explaining to someone how her brite-lite
worked. Then I heard clear as day, a man saying "Cool".
Then about 3/4 of the way through the tape I heard
her tell someone that she couldn't lock the door. And
what I heard next scared the crap out of me! I heard
someone say in a almost demonic voice, " quiet! they'll
hear our voice." Then I heard her say something back
put I could'nt make it out. Now mind you, We lived in a
1 story house and I was in the room right next to where
she was, watching a movie. And the only open window in that bedroom had a fan running in it. The next day
I played the tape back to her. And the only comment
she made was "Mommy whos voice is that?"
She seem to have no recall of talking to anyone.

Wow, that's pretty creepy. Do you still have the recording? If so, you should get it on your PC so we can hear it. You do have to keep in mind that microphones are very sensitive and you would be amazed what they will pick up on from quite a ways away. We are always sure that the residents do not have televisions or radios on when we investigate private residences. You also have to be absolutely certain that people in another room aren't talking. Whispering and mumbling is a huge no-no in our group too. If anyone makes any kind of a wierd noise, such as clearing their throats or anything they (or anyone who notices) has to verbally state that they did so, etc.

You have to be very careful when recording EVP's. A LOT of different things can sound like voices. Even something as simple as walking or the floor creeking or even just your clothing rubbing against your body. That's why we do our investigations naked! Laughing

. No, seriously, you have to keep the environment as controlled as possible to rule out other possible explanations.

I'm not saying any of these things were the cause of what you hear in your recordings, but if protocols weren't followed, they very well could be. I would still really like to hear your recordings though! Feel free to email them to me if you're able to get them on your computer and i'll be happy to analyze them.

Hi Whiteshadow. If further analysis shows this is a genuine EVP (sounds like it probably is), a few thoughts:

My somewhat limited, but diversified, experience w anomalous voices shows me that whatever's behind these voices sometimes have the ability to respond in ways that makes it appear they were in conversation with a person when in actuality they were just responding as if it were a conversation. There do seem to be plenty of trickster entities out there.

In other words, the entity/s wasn't necessarily having an actual conversation w your daughter, rather trying to make it sound like it was.

Sometimes they also like to create sound effects to match what's going on during a human conversation. I intend to post one of these soon. Anyway, its very possible she may have just been play talking and oblivious to the voice (and entity).

I would love to hear that audio recording to!

Most computers are not real difficult to get an audio recording into. All you need is the connecting wire that plugs in where the headset goes. Plug it into mic or line into the computer. Check your driver settings for the record to be sure that mic or line in is not muted or turned down. Go to the recording software and hit record and play the recording into the computer.

Sorry I've not been around, but I've been gone, then busy finishing up a TV show. That and some other video work.
