As some of you may know I just moved in February and so far nothing out of the ordinary has been happening... except for a flash of light that I saw and my friend called me and she started telling me about it..so she saw it too. We live about 7 miles from eachother and I just think it was something outside..Still don't know what it was but not really concerned.
Some of you also know from the other site that I've had a little girl ghosty around for 30 years..Since I moved I haven't seen her..Don't expect to for another month..When I have moved in the past she will show up in appoximately 3 months. Kind of anxious to see if she made the move with me
Last night was interesting though. My oldest daughter left the house around 9:30 p.m. to head to her boyfriends house. I knew that she wouldn't be returning for the evening. So at approximately 3:25 a.m. I wake up because I'm thirsty. Go downstair for a drink and I hear creaking upstairs coming from where my oldest daughters bedroom is. I brush it off thinking maybe she decided to come home..So I go back up the steps and I hear what sounds like someone rummaging around in her room. I open the door and she didn't return after all. So my next thought was it was the dog. I go into the spare room "where her doggy bed is" and she is out cold laying on her back.."looking pitful really" She really is a wimp but has great personality So I think " what the hell are you doing up running around in the house looking for something that's not there" So I head back to my bedroom. Just as I go to close the door I hear what sounds like someone heading down the hall at a fast pace..I peek out and still don't see anything. At that point I wake my husband and he's a little annoyed at me for waking him but I keep saying "listen, just listen" Who ever it was it headed up the attic steps and my husband jumped out of bed and got a flashlight "which he keeps by the bed in case the power goes out" He goes up to the attic with me hanging onto him from the back..We scan the attic with the flash light and "nothing" He turns on the light and at this point he says..Maybe we just are hearing things. So needless to say we didn't find anything.
Now I know a lot of you that are reading this are thinking that houses settle etc,. Well this house was built in the late 1800's - early 1900's. so I assume it's done it's settling..One of the things that I loved about the house was that it has really large floor boards throughout the upstairs we had them stripped and redone..so you can actually hear when someone is walking on them. They also make a cool creaking sound when you walk on them. I'm not worried at this point about what we heard but did do a little research on the house prior to buying it. While looking through past owners etc,. I didn't notice anything that would give me the impression that anything bad happen in the house. After last night I think I'm going to be looking a little closer at the past records and history and see if I can dig anything up. Wish me luck...If I find anything I'll let ya all know... |

Shay,
Well, lets hope if the house is haunted that it's not residual. Intelligent hauntings are much more fun!
Where the last occupants the original owners or their family? Did you ask if anyone had ever died in the house?
In Texas, if you ask if someone died in the house or apartment prior to you living there, they have to tell you by law.
Who, of the last owners stayed in your oldest daughters room? _________________ Frank Ratka

Frank the owners were "The Greens." The family had kept the house in their family for many generations...
I am friends with one of the younger generations of Greens..Brenda Green/Brinker ..That's how it all came about..the buying of the house..Her parents have passed away and she has no children ...so it all ended with her she lives with her husband on his families property..her only other sibling was a brother Jason who passed away from Cancer in the 80's he was 12 it was a really sad time...Anyway my oldest daughters bedroom was occupied by Jason in past years. Glad you thought of that. He would have been the last occupant of that room but it was made into a sewing room for Brenda's mother.
I'm still looking into the history of all the past Greens...they have been in this area for quite a while..I'll let ya all know what I come up with... |

Man, that makes it a lot easier to research. One family owned the house and you know them. You can get a bunch of information that way.
Keep us posted on what you find! _________________ Frank Ratka

| Because she's been following me for 30 years to every house I've lived in..I just figure what's the difference with this house? She'll be back..Trust me. Don't think I'll ever get rid of her... |

| Well the walking footsteps are continuing in the upstairs hall and my daughters bedroom...The family was all watching "Derailed" Saturday night and were all in the family room...Something was walking upstairs in the hall...My step daughter heard it first and she said...Shhhh turn the tv down...my husband hit the remote and she said what is that? Whatever it is ...it walks heavy with pretty quick strides...The dog started to growl and the hair raised up on her back...My husband took off upstairs and well "Nothing" couldn't find anything...I was wondering if I could just put a regular tape recorder in the hall and see if I can pick up the footsteps walking...Do you think it will work..I mean if we can hear them why wouldn't it pick it up? My husband also wants to put a video camera up there in the hall and see if we can see anything? I don't know guys what do you think? He said if he plugs it in instead of using batteries then we should be able to pick something up.. I told him not if it doesn't want us to see it...Am I right? Also wanted to ask if entities, ghosts, etc,. know that they are being recorded? |

| Wow sounds like you live in my house. We get the same kind of activity in our hallway. We got a weird evp when trying to catch the footsteps but still have no idea what he captured. We have a door at the bottom of our stairs that would always slam shut in the middle of the night. This would awaken the whole house as it was slammed so hard the house shook. So we set up a camera and tried getting it on tape. For weeks we got nothing and the door didn't slam. Best nights sleep we had in months. So one night you see the camera angled at the door and all a sudden it swings off the door so the door is out of view and than you hear the door slam. We eventually removed the door off the hinges because it became so annoying. The funny thing is sometimes we still hear it although its no longer there. So yep I belive an intelligent haunting knows you are trying to catch them on camera. Just my opinion and what I personally have experimented with. Good luck and keep us posted as to the what history you find about the house. |

Well we set up a cam and a tape recorder and nothing happened last night...pretty quiet night...My husband is the kind of person that it has to be right in front of his eyes for him to believe it so I think it's kind of funny that he is going to such lengths just to find out what it is...hehehe...I wonder what he'll do and say if he does get something...it's like he's on a quest... I'll keep ya all posted if we do get something... |
