Ok, so these pictures were taken in the month of May(can't remember the exact day but between the 1st and the 5th) in Roseville, Ca 95678 at roughly 1:00am. I don't know anything of the history of this spot, my friend originally took me here two years ago because he had painted one of the roads there several times without ever being there(painting going back to when he was 12, with him being 20 at the time). The only real reason i wanted to go was because the address was 666 Phillips road, I mean come on, 666? would be enough for most people to go in my opinion. Anyways on to the pictures!
now before anyone jumps on this picture as being cigarette smoke, it's not. no one that was present at the time was smoking. It's possible that it could be breath but in most of the pictures we took(some of the pictures had similar apperances)there was no visible breath at any angle.
(the next pictures will be on imageshack.us, photobucket decided to give me troubles while trying to upload.)
This picture i find to be kinda weird, taken on a nikon coolpix digital camera(can look up exactly which one when i get back to my house if needed). I find this one weird because of house the people on the right have a weird effect to them while the person on the left is left normal o.0
now i have more pictures that i'm dying to share with you guys but they are on my computer(currently at my girlfriends house when i stumbled across this forum ) when i get back to my house later today i will def upload them and crop some of them to show you exactly where the things are the we have spotted in them(have one with a creepy face in the hole of a wood door, hard to see but if you zoom in its def a full face o.0) |

Thanks, but that's not a whole lotta help.... lol The reason the time, date and zip code are so importants is, because we can look up the weather archives and see exactly what was going on with the temperature, humidity and dewpoint in that area during the exact time the photo was taken.
ALL types of fog forms when the relative humidity reaches 100% and the air temperature drops below the dewpoint, pushing it lower by forcing the water vapor to condense. Fog can form suddenly, and can dissipate just as rapidly, depending on what side of the dewpoint the temperature is on. Unfortunately, most of the time (almost always) we are easily able to attribute "ecto" to being fog, breath or in the case of people who do not follow protocols - Cigarette smoke.
For more information, be sure to read the article I wrote about ecto on the following page of our website:
A Study Of Ectoplasm
Thanks for sharing!

Fog and cameras....is the visibility or solidity of fog more apparent on camera than to the human eye? In other words, let's say I'm standing in a low-lying area that's fogging up at sunrise.
What I see is a steady film for half a mile, but I can see normal objects like a house, a car and a road...if I were to take a photograph of this scene, would the fog act any differently on film? Are there "typical" variances between camera and human eyes? _________________ Karen |
