My name is Vanessa, I am 35...at least until the end of October. I have 4 kids, and work at a Preschool. (Yes, I am dearly in need of some grown-up conversations! )
I am very interested in the paranormal. I spent some of my childhood living in a haunted house. I have had some pretty "spooky" experiences in my life.
This is a fascinating site. I look forward to posting with you. |

Thanks for the welcome. I am looking forward to exploring the site.
This site seems to lean heavily on the investigative side; which I think is fantastic! Are there many posters who are paranormal investigators by trade here? |

Yeah, the SHGHRS definitely leans towards actual facts and solid evidence, as opposed to mysticism. Most new groups base their entire belief system on Ed Warren's same old, tired theories and fallacies when they are first starting out. Unfortunately, most groups/individuals never seem to outgrow living all of the lies, but there are groups like us, who eventually learn how ridiculous it all is and we move on.

There isn't such a thing as a paranormal investigation trade. 99% of paranormal investigation groups not only do their research for free, but we also spend a pretty significant amount of money out of our own pockets to do it. It is those few, who charge money for their investigations or claim to be "paranormal experts" that should never be trusted!
For me personally, paranormal investigation started out as a fascination then it became a passion and an obsession. After realizing there are logical explanations for 99.9% of "paranormal occurrences", as well as photographic, video and instrument reading anomalies, it has plummeted down my scale of intrigue. For me, I just consider it to be an occasional hobby these days....
