I found this article online and I thought it was pretty interesting, so I thought I would share it with you guys. I don't know the source of this prediction or how accurate it is though:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Who Doubts The Predictions Of Nastradamus?
In the year of the new century and nine months, From the sky will come a great King of Terror... The sky will burn at forty-five degrees. Fire approaches the great new city..." In the city of york there will be a great collapse, 2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos while the fortress falls, the great leader will succumb. The third big war will begin when the big city is burning" - NOSTRADAMUS - 1654 AD
2001 is the first year of the new century and this is the 9th month. New York is located at the 45th Latitude. He also said that this will be the third World War and it would be bigger than the last two wars. Hope he is wrong, but judging from his predictions of Hitler, Napoleon, and Pearl Harbor etc...WHO CAN DOUBT HIM?
-------------------------------------------------------------
If any of you can authenticate this prediction, be sure and let us know!

This is a molded quatrane to fit a present event. Snopes.com dispelled this myth a couple years ago when 9/11 first happened. The quatranes don't really say that! _________________ Frank Ratka

That's what I figured, Frank. I'm definitely not surprised, because I think I found this article on that hoakie Unsolved Mysteries site! Anyone who would like to see the detailed explanation for how this fallacy came about, check out the following page: http://www.snopes.com/rumors/predict.htm.
Ya gotta get up pretty early in the morning to slip one past Frank Meister General!

Snopes.com is great. Unfortunately a couple of my favorite stories got debunked by them. One was a story about a cow dropping on a Japanese fishing boat and sinking it. I loved that one, since it was supposed to have happened after they left the Bering Sea. And now, dang, it's dead, dead, dead, Snopes squashed it's little head.
The other was the story about the kangaroo that they based the film "Kangaroo Jack" on. I first heard that story hitchhiking from no where New South Wales, to Long Reach in Queensland. It was a funny story, the version I heard, and I loved it. Again, Snopes blew it out of the water, or should I say, the outback? |

I like that site, I read it everyday! Some of the stories they debunk are amazingly outlandish and it amazes me how many people believe them. Then again, I am a really cynical person so "beliefs" are not something I readily accept.
A long time ago I read a short story written by Howard Lovecraft. It had a sentance in it that has stuck with me ever since I read it.... "Ignorance is better than false knowledge". This is something I always think about when I am researching a new project or experimenting with a new technique or method of evidence collection. I guess in a way it keeps me honest with myself, which in turn keeps me honest with anyone I present my research to. _________________ Frank Ratka
