Hmm, I guess I posted that enough. I kept getting an error when trying to reply. It said something about debug mode and failed sending mail. Sorry guys, admin if you could delete those duplicate messages for me. I apologize for messing everything up.
I can delete this post I just made but i cant delete those duplicates. I would if I could, to save my embarrassment and to save you guys the aggravation.
Sorry again guys, I will be more careful next time. |

catfishtuna,
We've all done this...there is no need to apologize...I get the same error coming up...so I either click the back button and refresh or just press refresh...it seems to work ....
As far as parenting skills...kids don't come with a manuel and sometimes their imagination can run away with them or be influenced by other people...but never underestimate the mind of a child...the best thing to do is listen and try to piece everthing together rationally..while at the same time ...calm their fears and let them know that they are not crazy...Nobody is questioning anyones parenting skills... |

No, not offended at all. In answer to your questions....
1: Do you let her watch scary movies? Or have you caught her watching scary movies?
I don't generally let her. I did cave in a weak moment and let her see Fantastic Four last summer, when she was five, almost six, because he cousins and grandmother were going, and she begged. Mom and I read the reviews, and decided a single exception to the rule was probably okay. Unfortunately this raised the ire of her natural father who, while he still was living locally and had regular visitation, decided it was okay to take her to PG-13 movies regularly like Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. After that, she had nightmares for a couple of weeks about aliens killing children. I'm not entirely sure what other movies she's seen with him. But since then, the scariest thing she's seen with my family is Yours, Mine and Ours. Scary for other reasons, of course.
2: Does anyone around her try and scare her? (Friends, siblings, neighbor kids?)
I have one nephew, who is about 9, who tells her scary stories sometimes. Anna and I have talked extensively about how he doesn't always tell the truth, and to run anything he tells her by me, and I'll let her know if he's REALLY telling the truth. This system seems to have worked over all.
3: Do you watch any scary shows and talk about ghosts around your child? (Scary shows meaning, ghost hunter T.V. shows, or documentaries about haunted houses or ghosts.)
Nope. The closest we get is Friday Night Doctor Who on Sci Fi, but kiddo watches the Disney Channel upstairs while we watch that downstairs.
4: How long has this been going on with this little girl? (From about what age?)
It started within a couple of weeks of her natural father moving out of the country last fall, late September/early October I believe.
5: Do you worry about ghosts and poltergeists alot? (Fear them?)
Nope. I've seen "stuff" my whole life (not always entirely sure what some of it was), and with two exceptions, I've never been scared. I'm not even entirely sure why the two that did scare me did, because they weren't a lot different from other things I'd seen. |

She's had a couple more incidences, both when we're forgotten to put her cross on her in the shower. In one, she was screaming bloody murder and had scratch marks again. This time it looked like three fingeres, and ran from her navel to her neck in a somewhat swirling motion. She swears she didn't do it herself, and given what the marks look like, I can see how it would be hard to do herself. |
Did she tell you why she was screaming bloody murder? Did she feel someone was atacking her?
Did she see something that scared her?
She said she didnt do the marks on her body, did she say where she thinks they came from? Like someone attacked her, or they just appeared there? There had to be some form of explanation for the screaming and the scratches. I am failing to see the connectio between the two. Did she say there was a connection? |

One time she screamed because she thought she saw something outside the shower, she said it was as tall as the bathroom door and moving forward. She said it was outside the shower door, though, so she didn't see it clearly through the glass.
The time she was scratched, she said she felt like something was standing in front of her while she had her eyes closed rinsing the soap from her hair. When her eyes opened she didn't see anything, but she'd been scratched. |

| So she never actually felt the scratches when they happened? |

Sorry, I'm posting at work so sometimes I get rushed.
She did feel the scratches happen, yes. Both the first time (referenced in the post on the old forum) and the most recent time (referenced in this thread). Both times the scratches happened, she had her eyes closed and was washing her hair. She didn't see what scratched her.
And another minor update. This morning I saw something again myself. We have a dressing room the opens up to the main bedroom. On the right side of it is the closet. While I was standing there looking in the mirror getting ready, in the side of closet doorway furthest from me, in the reflection of the mirror, I thought I saw a hand, not attached to an arm, reach out of the closet and quickly wave downward, then disappear. It would have been behind me, so I only saw it in the mirror. I only saw it for a moment, and I've been extremely stressed lately (ex-husband issues, and my father's just been diagnosed with lung cancer), so most likely I was just overtired or overstressed and my eyes played tricks on me. But a bit jarring nonetheless, with everything else going on. |

Do you drink alcohol any?
I am not trying to be funny, I was just wondering. I am not saying you were possibly drunk when some of these things happened. I am just curious. Alcohol dulls the senses, also dulls fear. Fear of everyday things that happen in life, and fear to do things you wouldnt normaly do. Example: On alcohol maybe you would try and talk to something you think is there, or walk into that closet and have a look around. Alcohol blurs some things but in turn sharpens other senses. If you are suffering from any kind of depression I do not reccommend this, but if your a casual drinker anyways maybe its worth a shot. (lol, that struck me funny, "worth a shot" and I am talkin about alcohol .) But seriously maybe it will help you to see more of whats going on, you tend to stare or investigate a little more when your drinking a little.
It was just a thought. I myself have never experienced any of these things, I think thats why I am so curious. |

HA!
Nah, I'm not much of a drinker.
I've tried talking to the thing and telling it to back off. Doesn't seem to have worked. And while I didn't walk down the hallway when I saw the big shadow, I did go into the closet after I saw the hand, since I was standing right there. Didn't see anything. |
