Hi, My name is Miranda and I am new to the board, BUT I need some advice, comments, etc!
Background: My best friend and brother-in-law passed away of an accidential drug overdose in his home in January of 2005. I think that his spirit is still with us all the time: I feel him, smell him, and sense him almost every day since he has passed! He was a fun loving friend, dad, husband, brother, and son! But he had a serious drug problem leading to his untimely death at 23 year old.
The Story: My niece(8) and my daughter(6) have clamied several times in the past 2 and half years to physically see him. There have been strange, unexplainable experiences that my sister and I have witnessed as well! The first months or so after he died was the most that we witnessed his spirit. Some examples: A brush that was on my couch flew across the room almost into the kitchen, a hat that he used to wear fell from the mantel, strange noises etc (These things would only happen when the girls were in the room.) OKAY, back to what has been happening the past couple of weeks!!! My niece has been seeing her dad (in the physical form) everywhere in her house (which is not the house that they lived in when he passed)! She said that he is wearing a white cap and has his hands on his head, with his head in his hands! She said that he looks normal but that she can't see his face. It is starting to freak her out. She won't go anywhere in the house by herself. She always has to have someone with her at all times (even using the bathroom)! She said that if she tries to talk to him he goes away or if she turns her head. I truley believe that she is seeing him (as mentioned before There have been several incidents that we have witnessed something!) To conclude I was just wandering if there is any reason why he would be showing up now everyday, several times a day two and half years later.
Thanks in advance for any advice or comments, Miranda |

Hi Miranda,
Thanks for sharing your story and i'm real sorry about your loss. Death really sucks!
About the brush and the hat incidents - Did anyone actually see the brush levitate and throw itself across the room or the hat falling off the mantel? Can you give us any specifics about these two incidents? Can you think of any explainable causes for those incidents?
Try having a few EVP and/or ITC sessions and call out to him and ask questions. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to record his voice. A lot of the ITC fanatics swear that it's possible to contact deceased loved ones via ITC....

aedryan,
My husband and I were in the room when the brush flew across the room with the kids(my niece was spending the night): It was like someone took there hand and slapped the brush across the room. (I hope that is a good depiction of what it was like.) With the hat I was also in the room and it could have just not been up there properly, but it just fell off no one around, no one jumping up and down, nothing.
Thank you for your suggestions,
Miranda
BTW: How would I find someone in my area to help us? |

Miranda,
Just do a few searches on the internet for "ghost hunters in (your area)", "paranormal investigators in (your area)", etc. I'm sure you'll find people. Just stay away from psychics whatever ya do!

This might sound like a stupid question, but what is ITC? I know what EVP is, but ITC is new to me.
Miranda, I'm so sorry for your loss. Aedryan's right, death sucks. My father died last year from lung cancer and I feel him around every once in a while. I would definitely try some EVP. I think it would be a good way to get some answers.

ITC-Instrumental Trans-Communication
I think. I know its here on the forums, and we actually have a whole subpage devoted to it, but I'm just too lazy to check it out. It's just basically a broader word for EVP, because it's not only recording sound, but other electronic objects, if I remember right. If I'm wrong, someone can hit me. lol |

Thanks a lot. I get it now. I'm new to the site. I'll have to check that out. Thanks again.
