Well, my parents and I were recently renting a house here in Pittsburgh. We have moved out and are in another house, though not due to suspected ghost activity. I do have a question, though, that I believe your answers would help settle some thoughts about some things that were happening in that house.
This all basically has to do with some strange things that were happening with my TV, and am definately aware that it could have just been the fact that my TV is getting old, though with something else that happened with it, I'm quite sure that had nothing to do with age.
First off, I always had a problem with it and a connection to our Dish Network digital boxes. It would do everything like it was supposed to, including dieing in the middle of a storm. But what always freaked me out about it, and only in this house, because it never happened in other houses where I had it, is that from my own personal experience, the Dish Network channels, and only on my TV, would suddenly get flipped through, or changed, or something else, and it would happen almost on a schedule, because it was always around 11 or 11:30 at night. And according to my mom recently, it also happened around 7 in the morning sometimes.
Now, what I found really strange, and have definately never experienced in any other house, with this TV or any other, is what I started experiencing around the beginning of this summer. Once the summer began and exams were over, I was able to play video games again, as my time was freed up. At times when I knew I was going to be away from the game for more than 10-15 minutes, I would shut off the game, but not the TV, as I was going to be back. Usually, I would leave for dinner downstairs, or to watch a movie of TV downstairs with my parents. During this time, they would rarely go upstairs, and as the TV made no noise while it was on the channel I need to play video games on, they never went to turn it off, and have both told me they didnt touch it when Id go upstairs to play again and find it was off.
I just found it strange how these things were happening, and only in my room, so I decided to post the experience here, and see if you guys had any thoughts on it. |

Was the TV the only strange thing noticed? Any thing else such as the basics, temp changes, feelings of being watched, moving objects and such.
Also, have you called Dish Network and see what kind of switching they were doing around those times when the TV was freaking out? Was there something "in line" to your TV such as a splitter, amplifier or barrell connector? Did the coax cable cross any high voltage cables or wires (such as A/C feeds or hot water heater lines)? If so, is the coax shielded or unsheilded?
Oh, also...was your TV piggy-backing off a receiver or did it have it's own. If that is the case then whenever the TV with the receiver was changed it may change your TV. I have seen that before on cable TV. Just a thought!
A lot of factors can play into a reception problem from satellite transmissions but since it only happened in you room, to your TV and no other paranormal activity was noticed (I assume), I think it was a technical problem and not a spook! _________________ Frank Ratka
