Mike I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly. If your implication is that a dig will save you from the need for a tripod in low-light settings, I wish that were true!

Just in case that's what you meant, it makes no
difference: dig and film cam.s both require a tripod (even if just make-shift) in such conditions. Shoot, just ignore this if that's not what you were driving at.

I understand what you're saying. and that's not what I was trying to get across. I very rarley ever use the Digital without either leaning my elbow on something to steady movement or at least placing the camera on a table or chair before snapping the shot. I realize a stable picture can save a lot of time and effort. and seeing as i do not have a tripod for the digital camera I make due with a well placed chair or table.

Hello its me again..have new things to tell and new questions to ask

I have gotten used to the fact that there is a ghost here in our home....the noises don't really scare me anymore......I have gotten used to locked doors and toliets flushing....thats me...I have adapted...can't say the same for others

My middle son recently had a friend sleep over..and it did not go well..this poor kid was up all night..hearing what he said was tapping sounds....and a bunch of other noises..needless to say my husband ended up driving him home at 5am.

A friend of ours let our dog out while we were away..only to experience the noises our ghost makes (banging he said on the wall) and he ended up leavin here pretty quick.

My oldest son who used to think it was cool..is getting freaked out by it....We were both lying awake one night...and we both heard the same noises...same time...he shouted to me..Mom you hear that..and I did...so now we know for sure..its not in our heads.

I have thought of doing the tape recorder thing..but..this is gonna sound odd..LOL..but I'm a little hesitant after seeing white noise..I know..only a movie...I don't know whether or not to just let it be..but part of me really wants to know who it is..why they are here..what they want....and why the hell they scare little kids!!!!!!!

ONe more question...do they ever just go away?

Thanks again!

Nothing bad can come of an EVP session. From my experience the most harm I heard was a few cases of Nightmares and high pitched squeels. But nothing can physically harm you.

It's not totally answered that ghosts just leave. sometimes they will go dormant for an extended period of time. but it's not known that they ever truly leave a place they're bounded to.

Hey there, mama! It's great to hear from you again and thanks for keeping us updated! Very cool of ya!

As anyone who knows me will tell you, I always try to call things the way I see them, in as honest and rational manner possible (even in day to day life) and especially where "ghosts" are concerned. So, please don't take take offense or think I am doubting your experiences. The things you are experiencing may very well be ghost activity, but the #1 rule in ghost hunting is to always exhaust all efforts in seeking explainable causes for strange occurences before we label them as "unexplainable".

The first thing that comes to mind about your toilet flushing on its own accord is that.... It can happen, believe it or not! I think you may find that your toilet has a leak and there is a very simple way to test it yourself. And if you find a leak, you may actually save yourself a bundle on your water bill and it's an inexpensive, relatively simple fix!

Testing for a toilet leak consists of dyeing the water in the toilet tank, either with a few drops of food coloring or a dye tablet provided as part of a leak detection kit, available from your hardware store or water provider. After dyeing the water, wait 20 minutes or so and check the water in the toilet bowl. If it is still clear, then no water has leaked from the tank. If it has even a tinge of color, then your toilet has a leak. Sometimes, if you have a very bad leak, the toilet will flush by itself, and there may be no color visible in either the bowl or the tank.

You can find more information about this at the following link:

Toilet Leak Detection And Repair

The banging noises you are hearing could be a number of different things. The most common explanation would be due to plumbing, which is known as "water hammer".

You can find more info about that in the following home improvement article article:

What Causes The Loud Banging Noise In My Home's Pipes?

Is your home heated by steam heat by chance? If so, it could also be caused by by the plumbing, which stems from the boiler. Just in case, here is a link to somemore info on that:

Noisy Radiators & Pipes

Regular heating and airconditioning air ducts can cause banging/popping/crackling sounds as well. That actually happens constantly in my house. Furnaces themselves, can even make a loud "BOOM" sound when they kick on. Here is a little piece of info I dug up with a simple search:

"When your furnace makes a loud BOOM or banging noise when it starts it means one of two things. First it could be undersized duct work which is being sucked in. Some people think this is normal since so many homes have this problem. This is not normal and furthermore, an undersized duct system will lead to other repairs. The second thing it could be is the flames igniting with a delayed ignition. If this is the problem, it is a very dangerous one. In either case a loud noise is never normal and a qualified Technician should review the situation immediately."

Here's a thought.... Let's assume your toilet does indeed have a leak, which is causing it to flush by itself. Let's also assume that you have rattly water pipes in your walls/floors. Sometimes when people flush their toilets or run faucets, their water pipes will rattle.... Is it possible that the toilet could be flushing itself and causing the pipes to rattle? Have you ever noticed the banging noises around or during the time your toilet will flush itself by chance?

Animals under your house?.... In your walls? The list of possible explanations for banging noises (and other noises) are practically infinite.

Here are a few questions for ya:

- Has anyone in your home ever heard any disembodied voices or footsteps?

- Has anyone seen any type of anamolies with the naked eye (in their direct line of vision), such as streaks of light, orbs, shadows, etc?

- Any strange odors?

- Any strange anamolies captured in photographs or video footage taken in the house (remember, orbs, vortices and most light anamolies don't count anymore)?

- Has anyone ever been shoved/hit/tripped/touched/mollested, etc by an unseen presence?

- Any electrical appliances going haywire (turning on or off by themselves, etc)?

- Can you explain the noises you're hearing, along any other strange occurences in vivid detail for us?

As far as EVP's go, you don't have anything to worry about, other than maybe getting a little freaked out if you capture something (which you will!). I know how ya feel though. I've captured hundreds of EVP's in some really spooky places, which is spooky enough, but the idea of capturing them in my home freaks me out a bit. I just kinda.... rather not.... Eeks lol

If you do decide to try a few EVP sessions, please just remember to do everything possible to control the environment. Do it at night when the houses is totally quiet and everything is more still outside. I would even suggest sending the kids to gramma's or to friend's houses during your sessions. Whoever is in the house during the sessions should be in the same room you're recording in at the same time and ALWAYS speak in a loud, clear speaking voice. If anyone makes the slightest noise, ALWAYS verbally state that they did so. Anything you can do to rule out the possibility of mistaking the living's voice with the living impaired! Laughing Wink

Thanks again for keeping us updated and I look forward to hearing back from you soon!

- Aedryan

Answers to your questions...

Yes, we hear footsteps on a regular basis..I have only heard a voice twice..and it freaked the hell out of me..and I want to say it sounded like a childs voice..I have no clue as to what its saying...my son has heard twice as well.Unless you count the times I've heard mom..and went to my kids and said YESSSS only for them to say..we didn't call you??

My youngest son who is seven, witnessed what he calls gray people in our hallway and at the foot of my bed.(he was the first one to witness anything....so its not like he came up with this after we were talking)A friend of my oldest son was sleeping over and saw someone walking around our basement..when he woke in the morning he asked me who was downstairs, I said I was, he said no it wasn't you they had long hair...and he knew NOTHING of what had been going on.

As for appliances, the tv's all the time...they are normally turned on to a blank channel the AUX channel......on occassion they are shut off..but more so turned on....(and no nobody layed or rolled onto the clicker..LOL it was nowhere to be found)

ok..now for the noises....I'll start with this morning..all my children were gone off to school...and I was home alone....with my dog..I was lying in bed..and heard someone playing with the blinds in our kitchen...(the dog was with me) there is no breeze....it was for a few seconds..then stopped......(i am scared typing this..LOL)the dog left me and went downstairs...about 1/2 hour later he started barking..I got up to look outside and see..and no one was around...back to bed I went...I'm not sure how much longer after the dog barked..but the downstairs tv went on....loud to..and when I went down there thinking the dog had gotten onto the couch and landed on the clicker..when I went downstairs..the clicker was on the table..so unless I have a very very talented dog.....it went on ..by itself.

I have not heard this..but my son has..and his friend who left the sleepover certainly did..they explain it as tapping....like fingers tapping..and its not coming from the heater..they both said it sounded like it was on the basement window. I haven't heard the banging.....and you could very well be right about the flushing toliet..but the footsteps and the voice......and the tv thing...thats all real...and no explaination for those.

If I think of anything else..I'll let you know..

One thing I despise, but I always see, is that the adults don't get their kids involved because they are scared they will be scared. Listen, if your children are over 9 or 10 years of age, go ahead and tell them that you are scared there is an entity in your house. It is rotten to not tell them or to just say "Ignore it. We'll take care of it." or "It's your imagination" because they get even more scared. It's impossible to keep it from them because children and young adults tend to feel theses things much more because they are still young and haven't stoned up their senses. Adults tend to ignore those feelings that something is there. Children can feel all these things and know. Keeping information from them just horrible because you make them even more scared and confused. And they will not forget it. It will haunt them for the rest of their life remembering how scared they were and that you wouldn't even tell them that they weren't crazy and you were scared too. Evil or Very Mad

Hey dstnyisurs,

It's easy to say...tell them but what you have to understand is, is it's how you discuss topics such as these is how the child will react, not becuase you don't tell them about it if or when something happens. I have a 3 year old and she has experianced things already and when i feel the time is right i will sit her down and explain a few things to her just as my parents did for me and i will let her make her own decision about it. There is nothing to fear...if you understand it!
