I had a strange experience when i was younger

I was sixteen, and for the past three summers, I'd gone to my relatives in Hertford, NC. They lived on the water, and had this huge double wide trailer. Nothing ever happened until my sixteenth summer. I was strong in my faith, and went to church regularly for two years before that. i read the bible every day; including the days there. (Lord, i hope this isn't sounding crazy), and our church was involved in demonology. (Excorcising them). I did not like that part. I watched people in church, react to what I figured was i guess you would call it, subliminal suggestion-I'm not an expert on the terminology like some of you fellas. Anyhoo--The last summer, on the first night, her new pet, a cat, well to put it plainly hated me. It attacked me when i reached to pet it, and kept doing its business on my comfortor while I was slept. (After the second night, i finally kicked the bitch out and locked the bedroom door). I also kept waking up everynight at 2:30 or closer to 3:00. I would feel this incredible fear, and couldn't explain it. Well on the third morning(remember, my bedroom door was locked) I heard my bedroom door open and slam, and stomping past my bed. I was at the other end of the trailer, and I had my own bathroom. The stomping would continue past my bed, and then they would go in the bathroom and the door would slam. i was so tired, from staying up half the night from that sickening fear that at that moment I chalked it up to my relative coming in and out and she didn't realize that she was being so noisy. Well this happened three times in a row that morning, and on the last time, my room filled up with this horrible stench that smelt like pnemonia(Like from hair color, but worse). I still couldn't seem to pull out of my doze, so i pulled the covers over my head. At this particular moment when I was hearing the sounds and smelling that stench, I felt no fear. I believed the rationalizations in the back of my mind. Anyway, when i finally got up later that morning, i went out into the living room and no one was there. Well, everymorning, I would read my bible outside in the sun. So i did my normal thing. My relative walks over with her neighbor, and I asked her was she messing with hair color or a permanent kit this morning. She said no. And then I asked her if she had come into my room this morning a couple of times. She said no. That she and the neighbor had gone off early this morning and she'd never come near my room. THen a thought occurred to me and I was scared shitless. In the bathroom was a doorstopper. This stuffed mouse with a rock in the bottom. It was in front of the bathroom door at all times in my room. It was still there that morning, and I know i heard the doors slamming and the smell. Anyway, I just tried to shake it off all day. That night, I was super scared to go to sleep. I did though, and sure enough, I woke up, and the fear was there, and when I looked at the foot of the bed I saw this white, greyish i guess cloud. I was so freaked that i pulled the covers over my head and started praying hard. I finally realized that I had to get out of that room, so i jumped up, trowing the covers over the end of the bed and charged for the door. I turned on every light in the house, and i called my mother right then, and told her i was coming home the next morning , and i was never coming back. I never did. Am I crazy? Was that maybe subliminal suggestion on me from the church's practice? Or do things like that really happen? Have you ever heard of those types of smells? The cat's behavior, and the weird wake up times in other hauntings? Now I'm finally done, sorry for the long story. Very Happy

Smells and animals acting weird do come along with a haunting. We get all kinds of smells from what smells like old grease to beautiful smells of lilacs and roses, and sometimes even food cooking. The theory is animals are more sensative to entities and can see them when we cannot. I have felt that shear fear you are talking about and I feel for ya there. I hate when that happens!!!!!!!!

what happened, and what do you do when you feel this fear? Do you say something to it? Pray?

what i meant to say was, did you speak to whatever was making you afraid, or did you pray for it to go away? Everynow and then, when i feel this fear, i pray, and chalk it up to nerves. My mom believes that some can be sensitive to unseen powerful forces, and that if you acknowledge it in any way, it opens the door for you to be the target for whatever it is. That you should pray to a higher power to make it go away, but i been reading here that some people just tell it to go away.
