first off no mental illness and no symptoms

secondly i watched the womans reflection until it got off the monitor and then turned to watch her turn left out of the room with my own eyes

then saw her again with my own eyes in my daughters room where she also walked into a closet and vanished.

I remember her looking real not like see through or vaporish but did look pasty faded almost like the color had been washed out of her and her clothes

Definitely cool, Soldier! It sounds like you just might have something there. So, the woman even had a solid/non-transparent appearance, eh? Do you remember anything specific about the appearance of her eyes by chance?

Oh, a couple more things! Laughing

- You mentioned hearing footsteps.... Did you actually hear her footsteps as you were watching her walk out of the room?

- When she came out of and went into the closets, were the closet doors open? If not, did she actually open the doors or did she morph out of/into them?

Either way, strange how she's hangin' out in the closets.... lol

My advice would be to research the property, both at the court house and the library and see what you can learn about all of its past owners and tenants. Try to find out if anyone ever died in the house and what the circumstances were, etc. Talk to your lanlord first, as he could probably save you a lot of time and work. I would even come right out and ask him if anyone else has ever reported any strange activities there in the past. Who knows.... Maybe you'll be able to find out who she is and possibly even why she might be hangin' around....

Also, I would start keeping a detailed log of ALL strange activites for future reference. Be sure to write down dates, times and every possible little detail when things happen, no matter how silly or unimportant it may seem. Then maybe we could go back through your notes and try to find some patterns for when things happen, etc. Also, be sure to do a little investigating when things happen and write down all possible non-ghostly explanations for the events. I would also start trying to capture some EVP's! You will most likely get EVP's regardless, but again, who knows.... Maybe you'll get lucky and get some direct communication from a woman, saying something meaningful to you.

The easy, Hollywood answer would be that the woman is watching over your baby and i'm sure that would be the first words out of a psychic's mouth if you were to tell one your story. It's hard to say why she would be lingering around there....

PS It sounds like the woman definitely acknowledged your presence, so if this is indeed a spirit, it doesn't sound residual. So, she is probably the real deal....

I have read your story Soldiersnow, and let me say, i would of run like hell if saw something like that Shocked

, but in saying that too i was thinking about something...I have noticed even with myself that in times when I am tried, and/or stressed that things just seem to be there when they are not. I am not saying I don’t believe you please don’t think that, I am in no position to judge but I just wanted to let you know that lack of sleep and/ or stress can play a big part in your mental state.
Please keep this in mind too.

That's a fact, Em. Being overly tired can indeed cause some degree of hallucinations, but not to this extent I wouldn't think. It doesn't sound like this was just a quick flash of light or a shadow out of the corner of your eye sorta thing. Soldier seems pretty clear about what he saw and it sounds like he saw this woman for long enough.

Speaking of which, how long would you say this whole incident lasted from the time you saw her until the time you saw her walk into your daughter's closet, Soldier?

Hey,

i was wondering something, You said she smiled when you said your wife's name, has your wife lost anyone close to her??? someone that might fit the discription of the lady you seem to have in your closet??

The only reason i ask, is that my daughter too has said somethings to me that have freaked me out (she is 3) about my grandfather that passed away in Jan of this year. I often hear her in her room giggling and talking to someone, but alot of the time i put it down to she has a VERY VERY large imagination.....but when she is specific about things i know that it's him communicating with her.

No my wife has not lost anyone recently but that would have explained that I however did my sister
but this woman did not at all look like my sister my sister was a bigger woman this woman was very small in stature.

I have sat here for like 30 minutes thinking about the question you asked about the eyes and the more i think about it the more i can't remember anything about her eyes only the smile it was a very warm smile like the kind a sunday school teacher might give you.

there are no doors on the closet so nothing to walk through or open there.

yes i heard the footsteps as i watched her walk
they were very soft the kind that you would hear when a woman is wearing a pair of soft soled flat shoes, my wife has a lot of those and they make the same noise when on hardwood

I would say the whole instance took place over about a minute and a half. when i first saw her she was looking right at me for what seemed like 35 to 45 seconds and when i said kari that is when she moved. after that maybe another 35 to 45 seconds till i saw her got into the closet of the babies room.

I have started to do some research on the building it was built in the late 1800's and at one point used to be a corner store with and apartment up stairs and that is the most that i have learned so far. i am looking for more info.

How would i try to capture evp's Electronic voice phenomenon right how wold i do that all i have is my comp i do not have an old tape recorder or anything is it possible to do it with my comp?
Would i need a special program or no?
Let me know if you have any ideas i do have a microphone

should i try to ask questions or just set it and go to bed?

well like i said let me know.

Heya Soldier,
If you don't have any kind of recorder, your computer will work fine, but it will use up a lot of hard drive space. Any sort of audio software and a PC mic will work fine for recording audio directly onto your computer. Personally, I use and highly recommend Cool Edit Pro. Here is a link where you can download audio software called "EVP Maker":

EVP Maker

EVP Maker is very basic and extremely easy to use for capturing and enhancing your EVP's. Just keep an eye on how much hard drive space you're using up! You should be fine though if you just capture an hour or two at a time and burn it right on to a disc, etc.

Okay, and here goes my infamous EVP 101 lecture.... Laughing

Please just be sure to follow strict EVP protocols to the T. Make sure your sessions are in a quiet, controlled environment, with no TV's or radios going and no one else in any other rooms of the house while you're recording - No whispering and if anyone present makes ANY sort of wierd sound (clearing their throat, coughing, sniffing, mumbling, making the floor creak, noisy clothing rubbing together, etc), EVERYONE present must verbally state that "so and so just made a noise", so you'll know what it was when ya go back and review your audio. Please be sure to be extra EXTRA careful and aware of noises if you live in an apartment building with close neighbors or in a noisy neighborhood.

I wouldn't advise just letting the recorder run while you're sleeping or not home, etc, because *see above*. It's fine if you just let it record while you're hangin' out online at night or something, but it's best to actually "call out" and ask questions during your sessions - "Are there any spirits present?", "Can you tell me your name", "When did you die?", "How did you die?", "Why are you here?", etc, etc, etc. Chances are, if you review your recordings thoroughly, you will find EVP's, so try not to get too freaked out by it. Actual direct communication doesn't seem to happen very often, but I can almost assure you that you'll capture EVP's within a couple of two or so hour sessions. The longer your sessions, the better your chances, obviously!

As far as reviewing your recordings, I can't remember exactly what all features EVP Maker has. You should at least be able to do the basics, like amplify your recordings, slow them down and speed them up. Just listen real close for whispering. They can be very subtle and faint sometimes. Also, pay real close attention to your own voice(s) on your recordings. Many times "they"? seem to morph our voices. In that, I mean one of us will say something, but when we play it back you will hear something entirely different and ghostly being said. It will be a completely different voice even sometimes.... Shocked

Definitely keep us posted and by all means send some of your EVP's our way when ya get some!
