Welcome To The Community Photo Gallery!
Welcome to our brand new interactive Community Ghost And Paranormal Photo Gallery! This great, new interactive addition to the Strange Happenings Ghost And Hauntings Research Society website/forum will allow official SHGHRS members and forum members alike to upload their own ghostly photos directly to the photo gallery and even create their own photo gallery, where others can view their collection of ghostly evidence!
Forum members are also able to leave comments, have polls and discuss each others photos! We welcome our visitors to register and upload their ghostly photos for other visitors and members to enjoy and help us make our Community Ghost Photo Gallery a huge success!
In order to avoid problems and unnecessary questions in the future, please read all of the "How To's", rules and terms and conditions listed below:
NOTICE: Members must either email me or send me a private message and request permission before they will be able to upload photos. Once I receive the request, I will manually change the permissions in your account. Then you will be able to upload photos.
How To Upload Photos
Image Dimensions
NOTICE: Image sizes are limited to 500 pixels (width)x600 pixels (height) maximum. There is also a 500kb maximum file size limit. Please note that this mod does have the ability to resize photos as they are uploaded if you specify the exact size you want it to be, but it would be much eaiser to just use your favorite photo editing software, so that your photo's aspect ratio will be correct, etc. Members are encouraged to optimize their photos BEFORE uploading them. Additionally, if you try to upload photos that are not within the 500x600/500kb limits, you will just get an error message.
1) Click on the "Upload Picture" button above and a new window will open.
2) Click on the "Browse" button and find the photo you that you would like to upload from your harddrive. Once you've found the photo, click on it then click the "Send" button. Make sure your photo is a JPG or GIF and the dimensions are no larger than 500x600 and that the file size is no larger than 500kb. Another new window will open....
3) You will see two links in that window next to "Insert Picture" - "Standard" and "Insert As Link". If you want your picture to display right on the page, click "Standard". If you want your picture to display as a text link, which opens your picture in a new window when users click on it, click on "Insert As Link".
* Please note that we would like most photos to display directly on the page, unless you need to post a series of photos in order to make a point or some such. So, users should just choose the "Standard" option most of the time.
4) If you do choose the "Insert As Link" option, you will notice BBCode that looks like the following will be placed in the text box:

We ask that you give your photos a unique/meaningful name and make the link bold. To do that, simply change the part of the code that says to | Code: | | ]Insert Unique Name Here[ |
To make the link bold, simply highlight the entire BBCode and click the "B" button up top.
If you did it correctly, the BBCode should now look like this:

How To Create Your Own Photo Gallery
Please note that ONLY regular forum members - those who post at the forum on a regular basis and have enough evidence to make their own gallery worthwhile, will be permitted to have their own photo galleries. The gallery is not for new members who register, just so they can share a photo or two. Those members are welcome to post their photos in the "Share Your Ghostly Photos" thread. Additionally, ALL members are welcomed and encouraged to upload a personal photo and introduce themselves in the "Introductions" thread. It's always nice to put a face to the text! 
Regular members who would like to have their own gallery, please send me a request and I will set it up for you. You will then have an entire thread devoted to your photo gallery here at the forum!
Once your photo gallery appears here in the Community Paranormal Photo Gallery, simply go to your gallery and create a new topic then follow the instructions above for uploading your photos. To upload more photos to your gallery in the future, just go to your gallery and create a new topic! So, in other words, you may create a new thread within your photo gallery, which you can dedicate to each individual photo or collection of photos.
Photo Gallery Rules:
- ABSOLUTELY NO ORB OR "VORTEX" PHOTOS!
The only two exceptions to this rule are:
* Still frames, which were captured/grabbed from video.
* Orb photos, which were captured on camera and video simultaneously. Both versions must be included.
ALL OTHERS WILL BE DELETED!
- As already mentioned above, all members are welcomed and encouraged to upload personal photos of themselves to their gallery or include one in their introduction in the "Introductions" thread if they would like, but we ask that they are kept to a minimum. All other non-paranormal related photos will be deleted (graphics, avatars, etc).
Photo Formats:
- All photos must be in JPG or GIF format.
Descriptions/Supportive Information:
- All paranormal photos must include a clear description. Please be sure to include as much supportive information about your photos as possible, such as any possible related strange occurances, weather/atmospheric conditions, brief history of the location where the evidence was obtained, etc.
Analyzing/Commenting On Photos:
- If you do not wish for your paranormal photos to be open for analysis or critique, do not register or create an album. That is the main purpose of the community paranormal photo gallery.
- We ask that all comments on user's evidence are expressed in a constructive, polite manner.
Deliberately Faked Evidence
- Deliberately faked evidence that is submitted for the sole purpose of deception is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate ban!
Legal Stuff
Direct Linking:
Linking to any images in our gallery is strictly prohibited! That means DO NOT use HTML or BBCode on other websites/forums to display photos from our gallery directly on other webpages. This is known as bandwidth theft and it is illegal! We will be checking periodically to make sure no one is doing this and if they are, they will be reported to their ISP. Members are welcome to link to their gallery or to the URL where their image is posted however.
"Borrowing" Copyright Protected Images:
No images may be "borrowed" for any purpose without the expressed written consent of the Strange Happenings Ghost And Hauntings Research Society and/or the owner of the photos. Doing so is a direct infringement of copyright laws and is strictly prohibited.
Uploading Copyright Protected Images:
4) Uploading copyright protected content to the paranormal gallery is strictly prohibited. Upon uploading ANY given content to the paranormal gallery, you are attesting that you are either the sole owner of the content or you have received proper permissions from the content's owner to do so. Additionally, users accept full legal responsibility for any legal issues that may arise, due to their own possible copyright infringements.
Pornographic Images:
Pornographic material is strictly prohibited. (Please send all pornographic material to Aedryan directly!)

Upon receiving permission to upload photos to our gallery, users agree that they have read all of the paranormal gallery's rules, restrictions and disclaimers, as outlined on this page and agree to abide by all of the terms herein.
