Evidently a man named George Meeks was able to invent a machine that allowed spirits to manifest their voices. Some friends of mine are working on recreating this machine after hearing the tapes of his work on Coast to Coast A.M. In the tapes, spirits are recorded speaking to Mr. Meeks, and at one point they actually start helping him to improve the machine.

I haven't been able to find a transcript of the broadcast, but then I haven't written to see if the show offers them. Apparently the movie, "White Noise" was loosely based on Mr. Meeks' work.

From what I have been able to find out, the machine generates a white noise like when the tv goes off station, but with a difference. The theory being that spirits can manipulate physical sounds easier than they can generate them. Much easier. So by giving them a neutral sound source Mr. Meeks gave them an instrument to manifest their voices.

When I mentioned to one of my friends how a cat I used to have very clearly manifested the noise his bell made when he moved, she said I wasn't hearing it with my physical ears. Apparently this is why some people can hear sounds very clearly while others hear nothing. The people who hear nothing aren't listening with the right set of ears.

My friend also mentioned that some of their best evps manifested when there was a lot of noise, people talking, wind blowing in the mic, things like that. Which would support the theory that ghosts manipulate physical sounds to create speach.

Any thoughts on this?

I thought the information was interesting. I am waiting for a response from mark Macy now from a few questions I had for him.

I thought it was interesting how my own research resembled that of Otto Hans Koenig in ultrasound and I had never read a lick of his research until a few days ago.

I don't know how I feel yet on the whole resonance thing, where your "spirit" has to be in resonance with the entities on the other side before contact can be made. I get EVP's without trying no matter where I go but they say that those spirits are Earthbound and are closest to our own rate of vibration.

I don't know... I will let ya'll know how the email conversation goes though!
