I received an email from the Discovery Channel series - "A Haunting" today. Though the show is extremely well produced and captivating as hell, I am resisting the urge to express to them how hoakie the majority (if not all) of their "stories", as well as most of the "experts" they have had on the show are. The ghost stories people tell on the show are awesome, but what always gets me is, the people who supposedly experienced these hauntings will talk about how all of these wierd anamolies showed up in their photos and audio recordings and how they had paranormal researchers come and investigate on multiple occassions, yet not a single stitch of evidence has EVER been presented on the show! Of course, all of the paranormal researchers, who seem to have ever been called in to these people's homes to investigate are psychics, mediums, self proclaimed "demonologists" and groups, who are driven by mysticism. Yes, even our old pals - Ed and Loraine Warren have made several appearances on the show, as have many of their "students"/clones!
Anyway, I thought I would share the email with you guys that I received. You can clearly see that they are not in the market for real world evidence of ghosts:

We are looking for true ghost stories and I wonder if any of your investigations involve people who might like to see their stories recreated for television. Have you collected a story that might meet the following requirements?
The people involved would have to consent to being interviewed on camera for the program and the story must contain the following elements:
- A series of paranormal experiences that will fill an hour long program.
- The person or persons involved must experience unsettling, even frightening events.
- An escalation of haunting events that cause a sort of emotional roller coaster ride for the person or persons involved.
- A investigation of some sort by the person involved or an outside professional that reveals the likely identity of the ghost or spirit.
- In other words, we are looking for a "movie-like" script that features real people.

I could actually set something up with people from a couple of different locations we've investigated in the past and probably get on the show pretty easily, but I don't think they would find my theories and conclusions very "movie-like" or cinematic. I can just see myself sitting in front of their cameras, blowing the lid off all the bullshit.... LOL!
