I read on this site about the "entities" and I think that is what I have. We've been seeing a shadowy figure in our house for years. Actually, we've had it in two different houses and a temporary lving apartment in different states (if it is the same thing).

Although we don't always see it, when what we've seen is shadowy figure who appears to be caped with arms wide open. It comes toward us and then begins to go backward and disappears. My son and his friend saw it in his room one night at our old house. My husband has seen it several times while in bed at this house and the old house.

I am staying alone with the kids lately and at night there is this bumping in my room. This is new since this past summer. It didn't happen at our old house. I thought maybe it was the electronics in the armoire or the air or the heat, but it is coming from my armoire it pops but only in the middle of the night. It usually happens when I just lay down to bed as well as through the night. I usually have to wake up between three and four in the morning to use the restroom and I feel like I am being watched. The armoire almost always pops when I get the light turned back off and tuck in bed. I keep my eyes closed tight because I don't want to see what is watching me.

One night my hubby and I were lying on our backs and talking when we saw the shadow figure and I said "Do you see it", and he said "yes and I saw it standing behind you when you came out of the restroom but didn't want to scare you". I had just had an experience coming out of the restroom on my way to bed noticing the blinds half of the verticals moving like a hand was going back and forth through them while the rest stayed still. I tried to dismiss it as nothing, but then we saw the figure hover over us in bed and then disappear. As I was coming out of the restroom I felt like someone was behind me. This was not at either of our houses, but at an apartment we stayed in for a short time while relocating.

I wonder if it is the same "entity" in all three places.

Also, a month ago when we were visiting my mom's house my husband thought my daughter came to his side of the bed to sleep by him. He watched her walk around to his side of the bed in the dark, but when he reached out for her he realized it was not our daughter but someone else and the little girl turned and went through the door and outside. Could that have been the same thing, the shadow figure?

Since I grew up in a house that I thought had a ghost (who played with electronics and at least once turned on a toy that had no batteries in it) I've always been a little curious about ghosts. Hopefully, I didn't do anything to bring on this entity to my family. My husband does suffer from depression and that worries me b/c he usually sees the figure more and things get really bad in our marriage when he is depressed.

I do have some Holy Water (which I flick at my kids when they are acting wild:-). When I bought this house I went all around it with Holy Water and sprinkled it over each doorway. I did a little more on the front porch last summer when we came back here after being gone for nine months.

Sounds like some pretty strange things going on. Have you tried getting any evp's? Read aedryan's forum on that, and then maybe you can try that and see if you can get anything.

Okay, I'll read the post you are refering to. I must say that investigating it makes me a little scared as I feel this has been following me from house to house. I'd like to try something to get rid of it. I thought I'd time my investigation and trying to get rid of it, if possible close to the time of closing on this house (if that ever happens). I would just hate to agrivate it and cause a big stir with my kids still here and me for that matter. Yikes!

I've had lots of things happen over the years, but the shadowy figure bothers me and the bumping in my room at night. And I forgot to mention that sometimes it feels like it jumps on my bed. It feels like one big hop sometimes and other times like footsteps. My gosh, how can i forget that. Often times I would think, it's my cat. Then I remember my cat is staying with my friends in TX right now while I try to sell this house. Besides my cat really doesn't weigh enough to do what is happening on the bed.

I don't know why this could be happening to us?
