Hi Everyone,

Yeah sure GhostBuster1907 i would love to hear your experiences....i am doing sort of a little experiment with the Ouija Board and i will be posting my findings, to be sure to check in and have a read and tell me what you think, and maybe you can give me some little tips on using the board as well...(i am new to this), i am planing on trying both home made and brought one as well and see which is better and hopefully we get some creepy's coming though!! Shocked

Hello Em, yea that's a good idea to experiment with both types of ouija board for your experiment. I'm interested in what your finding will insist of. And i will be checking back periodically for updates.

Ok so i have had a couple of requests to share my Ouija Board experiences and stories. I don't have much time to do it right now but in the days to come you can look forward to a new thread starter of it all.

How about Pendulum Dowsings? Anyone have any thoughts or experiences on this? I finally found a group that meets near where I live, and this is what they're doing at the first meeting I'm attending with them.

I'm getting one of these doo-hickies so I can join in the activities (and maybe learn something), but again, I've never heard of this before, and it sounds a lot like ouja board stuffs to me - guess we'll see.

Unless someone can give me a good reason to take it seriously though, I'm going to file dowsing under "hokum".

I just think there are too many things that can influence the results, and I don't want to squander my time on things that can't be easily proven...or at least things I can prove to myself.

Hey....yeah right on about the way you are thinking, unfortuanlty in this kinda topic you will always find reasons to doubt what you hear and see (photo's ect), but like me i am doing my own sort if investigation in to the Ouija boards so just prove to myself weather they work or not........Oh and thanks for the link i will take a look and get back to you on what i think about this.....Pendulum Dowsings!!!

Hi Everyone,

So sorry it took so long to post this but I have been really busy with work and hadn’t had the chance to type it all out, but today not that busy so I had a chance to fix it all up……

OK, so I am not going to post everything that happened coz I don’t think it really that important and will again waste space so I am going do a quick run though of the evenings events…

Well, we must of started mucking around with the O board about 11:30, only because I was trying to scare the wit’s out of one my friends…. LOL and succeeded!! So she was out for the night and she watched as me and some others did the experiment.

1. Within the first sort of 20min of all of us with our hands on the planchette it started “working”. A lot of mixed up words and letters to begin with but nothing to scary there.
2. Then it started to get a little personal with one of my friends, she was asking the questions. . Who are you? What’s your name?? It would only answer if she asked…weird!!
3. My friend was getting a little freaked out so we decided to change the group up a bit and took her out of the group and put someone else in. Same thing a lot of mixed up words and letters.
4. Then it went quite, sitting there for about 2 hours trying to get it “working” again.
5. then two of us decided to do it on our own…….WOW talk about freaked out, I was the one “it” was talking too, nothing personal just answering simple questions, but you don’t expect it to become so active. I asked what “it’s” name was…..i got TOM and he was from the outback, I asked how he died, I just got the word SICK, so I am guessing he died from some sort of illness but as quick as “it” came “it” went quite again so…..not a lot on this one either. BUMMER!!

No EVP as the stupid contraption my dad lent me is absolutely useless…sorry guys I will getting a new recorder to use so hopefully fingers crossed I can use this on the next one as I would have loved to have heard the EVP’s from that night.

Also I am bummed as this wasn’t every active either, so I think I need someone who is a paranormal magnet…like you Aedryan!! LOL I just don’t think they like me…..maybe I should put on a push up bra and high heels next time…..LOL!!

I also failed to mention that i used a Home made O board for this one!!

Thanks for sharing, Em. It sounds like you guys were patient and gave it an honest effort. That's what it takes! What I will do a lot of times to try and get "it working" (warmed up?) is ask questions like:

- Do you know my name?

- Can you spell my name? (sometimes I will even tell it my name and see if it can spell it, etc)

- Can you spell (insert whatever words here)?

Basically, just simple questions to try and get things going. Then of course, if that doesn't work I will put on the ole heels and a push-up bra.... Embarassed

Wow, very interesting results Em. Congrats on having such a neat research session. Smile

I have a little reporting to do of my own too. I met with the local group I told you about and took along the pendulum I bought online (I got dowsing rods too for future experiments), but the whole time I was driving there, I was hoping this part of the evening would be over quickly so we could enjoy more ghostly-type discussions. I was only doing this silly pendulum stuff to get to the more interesting things...or so I thought. Here's how it went:

The meeting moderators passed around slips of paper vertical and horizontal lines which were to represent "yes" and "no" answers. They asked us to identify which direction would actually represent yes and no to us individually by simply asking the pendulum a question we knew the answer to in order to "set" the pendulum. Mine appeared to conform to the paper by swinging vertically for yes and horizontally for no, since I asked it if I were 20 years old and it almost immediately began swinging in the “no” direction – guess this means I have a decidedly smart-aleck pendulum (I’m 44, but it could have hesitated first just to be polite). Smile

Next, they passed around 3 styrofoam cups and a quarter, instructing one person at a time at each table hide the quarter under one of the 3 cups while the other members of that group look away. At first, we weren’t very patient, and figured it wasn’t working, but we were told that responses aren’t always immediate, so we needed to be more patient. Once we began exercising a bit of patience, we began to each witness our own – as well as each other’s – pendulums actually indicate which cup the quarter was under…every time. I was stunned. I also have to say that I truly felt the pendulum moving on its own – I can’t quite describe this, but I knew it wasn’t being swung accidentally by me or moved by a breeze. I was really impressed.

Sooo…my "hokum" file just got a little thinner this weekend. I’m not sure where I’m going to re-file pendulum dowsing, but now I know firsthand that there’s something interesting happening there.

That aside, I did get a chance to chat some with a couple of folks at my table who are big EVP collectors, and who have also been performing investigations for many years. I gleaned a good number of tips on equipment as well as a few very interesting stories. Smile

Awesome Karen!!

Thats really cool, i am glad that the Pendulum Dowsing thing worked out for you (and you didn't have to wear a push-up bra or heels....lol)!! I think i get the dirft of it now after reading your post! I have heard of that sort of thing before. Humm we use the same sort of method when a women is pregnate, we take the wedding ring of the women and place it on a string, we then hold the ring over the tummy and if it sways side to side it's a girl back and forth boy round and round twins!!! Now i am not saying this works coz if it was true i would have had BOY not a GIRL....lol

LOL, yes, I seem to vaguely recall someone trying to tell me about that wedding ring trick when I was pregnant too, but I wasn't going for it, and that was a really long time ago!

I haven't read up on how to use the dowsing rods in detail yet, but I was showing my husband how you're supposed to hold them, and they slowly drifted backwards to face me. [I'm sure it had nothing at all to do with the fact that I had my back to a bathroom and our kitchen...enough water sources to send any set of rods spinning.] Razz

As for the heels and push-up bras, I'll leave the those to Aedryan - I much prefer a good pair of bunny slippers and a beat-up old jersey. I wonder if he'd attract certain types of entities more than others in that kind of get-up...seems to work pretty well in bars. Wink

Oh, and Em, did you happen to write down the non-sensical letters you got during your experiments? I had this wild thought about foreign languages...just wondered if you wrote any of them down and could run them through babelfish to see if they make words in another language...or backwards in English maybe too.
