A long time ago ar a party, we literally made a homemade Ouija Board and a planchet out of an empty case of beer and it worked GREAT! It will work with anything. You can even tape letters and numbers down to your kitchen table and turn a glass upside down and it will work. One time we even taped a big piece of blank paper down to my kitchen table and we rigged up a pencil to my Ouija Board planchet. We were trying to see if it would actually write out the answers on the paper, etc. Unfortunately, we just ended up with a shit load of scribbling though....

My family when I was still a teenager got involved in this church that was really into demonology and 'excorcising' them out of people (I didn't join in & seeing adults that I knew to be 'sane' acting like they did when the church would hold 'mass exorcisisms' on them was freaky to watch. I would usually run out of the church when they would hold these sessions. The elders in the church taught us that ouija's were to doorway for the devil. They never messed with them, though, but they constantly prattled on about their dangers. I know, that sounds cult like, and I was never so glad to get away from that church. Since then, I've had three terrible experiences with the ouija. Two with friends-One died, two days later after messing with one, and the other time, Two people were stabbed the very next day. I'm fully aware that it was probably just a coincidence, but still, I can't help feeling that the ouija was involved. The first incident- some of my friends asked when I was going to die-now this one is questionable because I wasn't there, (I was told afterwards) I was thirteen, but they told me what the ouija told them, and that scared the shit out of me. The second time, when I lived in Hughesville, Penn. I was seventeen, and a group of us, say five or six were playing with it at a halloween party. Well, the planchet flew off the board and hit a wall, it freaked all of us out, and everyone swore that they didn't do it. We all quit playing immediately, and two days later, my bestfriend and her sister were in a horrible car accident. My bf's sister died, and my bf barely made it herself. The third time, my son found a ouija in my daughter's room (I went off on that), and I told him to throw it away. Well he broke it over his knee before I realized what he was doing, and then he threw it in the trash. The very next night (This happened in 2006) at my son's 16th b-day party, he and his bestfriend were stabbed by a stranger in my front yard. They both survived thank, God. But it was touch and go for a while. I don't want to suspect that the ouija had anything to do with my son's stabbing, or you to think i'm crazy, but I can't help wondering, since all these strange occurrences happened right after playing with one. Do you get my drift. That's why I feel that they are dangerous. My upbringing, and the 'coincidental accidents' that followed after each time a ouija came into the picture. Your turn, aedryan. What do you think? Hopefully that i'm not crazy, lol.

Hey, i've seen that movie! Witchboard is one of my all time favorites! Just kidding.... lol

So, seriously.... You're saying that you've used a Ouija Board 3 times in your life and 2 out of 3 times someone either died or got stabbed shortly after and one of the times the planchet supposedly flew off of the board and into the wall on its own accord. In otherwords, EVERY time you put your hands on a Ouija Board planchet, supernatural activities and atrocities occur? That would be a pretty remarkable percentage ratio on experiencing extremely powerful, otherworldly "dark forces" at work (100% success!)....

On the other hand, myself and several close acquaintances of mine have used Ouija Boards dozens of times and not one of us have ever experienced anything remotely paranormal whatsoever. We have even used the Ouija Board in a couple of different cemetery locations, where we have collected a pretty significant amount of evidence in the past. We even brought a huge mirror to one of the locations and set the Ouija Board up in front of it on top of a mass grave monument. The SHGHRS spent almost an entire night, using the board in front of the mirror, inviting/taunting spirits and demons to use the mirror as a portal to join us (yup.... two superstitions in one). While two of us used the Ouija Board the rest of us were recording audio and video and monitoring EMF's and temperatures. How much evidence did we collect that night? Notta!.... Zip!.... Zilch! We didn't even capture so much as a single EVP that night, which has NEVER happened in the 8 or so times we've done investigations at that particular location.

So, my rebuttal in a nutshell, Butterfly is, the numbers speak for themselves. I would have to say that even if all three of your Ouija Board stories happened exactly as you said (which in all honesty, I have to doubt), the likelihood of the explanation for each event being due to supernatural causes is pretty slim.

i really know nothing about these, so i guess like anything in life "You never know unless you try". I am not so uneasy about using one now that i have learnt a bit about them the danger's ect......if any!!
look my dad did used one and as far as i can tell he must of had a bad experience with one coz he wouldn't let me bring one into the house, let alone even tell me what happened....he refuses to talk about it!! Now just coz he assumes that what experienced was paranormal as any normal curious person i wanna try it, and just like you guys, see if there is any truth to this......again it has to be seen to be believed!! (thats my little 2 cents) hehehehe!!!!

I will explain.....Mr Swiggle was the Man from the moon in a TV show i used to watch as a child.....He had a pencil for a nose, there would be shapes or lines on the paper and he would turn it into a picture of the topic of the day...animals ect he was very cute and funny....so maybe he does have the same kinda qualities as beer coz when you drink that everything looks funny and even the most ugly of people become cute......(oh don't go getting your hopes up Genasty)

unfortunately, these two incidents with the death and stabbing did occur. I do not believe that because I PUT my hands on the planchett that i was connecting with anything supernatural. I just have been raised to believe that the ouija is a doorway for the unknown, and even if you've played with it time and time again and nothings happened, doesn't mean i'm not right about that part. Why else would you play with it? It's just hard to ignore the glaring coincidents that happened after coming in contact with the board or witnessing the destruction of it. It doesn't mean I'm right about any of that, though. (Guess you could call it parania from being involved with a church that dabbled in the study of demonology alongside their faith. I know this stuff can play with peoples sometimes). I did relayed the incidents as honestly as i remembered. And that, I know I'm right about.

Experience’s change people’s view’s on things, I have had bad experiences with things and yet my sister who would do the same thing, would swear I was making it up!! The reason I posted the Questions about the Ouija board was because I do want to try it, but I knew nothing about the Consequences of using it…..but because both You and Aedryan have given me both sides of the Fence(which i thank both of you for), at the end of the day it’s up to me….yeah!! I am glad that you shared your experiences with me, it has made me really stop and think about trying this, but like I said before you will never know unless you try!! I want to find some truth for myself, there are questions that I have that I know only I can answer and I suppose you could say that this is where I am going to start.

I would like to know more about the Church you attended though…..that sounded really interesting, I have read so many stories about those Occult like churches….

I just went back through the Ouija thread and i read the one RHY posted...the transcript, i was wondering about the communication that will be made, i am not expecting to have a full on convo with a ghost , but what should i expect??

If you're patient and the O board is working good for you and whoever you're doing it with, I would pretty much expect a "full on" conversation actually. Whether you are actually talking to ghosts or not still remians to be proven though....

Another important thing I should mention is, only one person at a time should be asking the questions and avoid a bunch of unnecessary talking and commotion during the session. It's alright to take turns asking the questions once in awhile, but only one at a time! Otherwise "it" seems to get agitated or confused a lot of times. Also, avoid asking a lot of simple yes/no questions. Yes/no answers don't count in my opinion....

One of my peeves is when people sit and try to make something out of every little bit of jibberish the board will spell out before it gets.... "warmed up"? Expect a lot of jibberish and a sore back. It just takes a long time to really start working good sometimes, but once it does, you will be amazed and probably pretty freaked out by some of the stuff it will tell you! I really think how well it works has everything to do with who is using it too though....

You are so right, em. To each his own, and that includes opinions. So it's all good in the end. That's what I like about this site. People can express and that's it. No more bullshit (Like other places we know of--huh, aedryan.). So good luck on your expedition, and STAY SAFE. Don't forget to keep me posted on your progress. Maybe I could change a few opinions I have from hear another's experiences with the ouija. Although, I know for sure that I would never want to play with one again. any way, I'll nudge ya on msn sometime, ok, em.

Hello, Em regarding if a bought ouija board a homemade one is better, in my experiences, a homemade one works better. My family has used ouija boards since way back and have had some really bad experiences with them and are not allowed in my home anymore. But that's just me. I kno of alot of people that have had good experiences etc. I can share with you some of the experiences if you like but I don't want to scare or creep you or anyone out. but then again they are just my experiences and to some people debateable.
