don't know what's happening!

About a year ago my daughter, now 12, said she sees this woman with long hair and a white dress,but she cant tell what her face looks like or if she even has a face idk she has seen her in our kitchen and on our stairs. I told her to just ignore it and it wont hurt her. But this isnt what freaks me out. She just told me the other day that this thing Crawls on her floor at night. she said this happens every night and she doesnt look to see what it is she says she's too scared. and i asked are you sure its not the dog and no of course i knew it wasnt she always sleeps with her door closed. She says she hears a ticking sound and sometimes a knock and she says when she prays for it to stop the knocks get louder. And then it finally just goes away. Now she wont sleep in her room. Now i didnt know what to do about this so i asked my grandmother and she says my great grandfather saw a woman with long hair and a white dress years ago but he lived a mile from here and he saw her in the woods while he was sitting on his porch. Could it be the same woman? And why would she be crawling?!!! Thanks for any help!

Hi Alice,
Thanks for sharing your story with us. Firstly, all of the psychics and mediums and PSUPRS-esque' - mystic based groups out there would sure have a field day with this one. So, I just want to caution you to be extremely careful what you believe....

Before I comment, I just want to ask you a few questions:

1) You said that your daughter is hearing these knocks every night and that they get louder and louder when she prays. How far away from her bedroom are all of the other members of the houshold when this happens? Has anyone besides your daughter ever heard these knocks?

2) How often does your daughter see this ghostly woman?

3) Does she always see the ghostly woman in the same exact location?

4) Does she always see the ghostly woman ariund the same time of day?

5) Does the ghostly woman always do the same thing/follow the same "path" every time she sees her?

6) Does the ghostly woman seem to acknowledge your daughter's presence or react to her in any way?

7) Have you and/or your husband investigated the "crawling" sound and searched for a logical explanation for it, such as your pets clawing at the walls/floors/furniture/doors? Could there be rodents inside of your walls, such as mice/rats or squirrels, etc that you are not aware of?

8. Has your daughter ever actually saw the ghostly woman crawling across the floor?

Thanks for your reply. I have just a couple of other questions, if I may....

- Does your daughter ever say she can see/hear/feel/sense spirits other than the lady you have spoken of or the crawling sounds, etc?

- Has your daughter ever mentioned being pinned down to her bed and being unable to move or speak/yell/scream, etc when she sees the ghostly woman or hears the crawling sounds?

- Has your daughter ever been diagnosed with ANY form of mental illness?

no she is not pinned down or anything and she says she feels like shes being watched sometimes but just at night
and now im am worried about the mental illness issue i did read the topic on how seeing ghosts may be related to mental illness. she is a very smart, talented, outgoing girl not a nervous or shy person at all. I have never thought she might have a mental illness. Maybe I should ask her doctor about this. What do u think?

I don't know if I would be way overly concerned about mental illness yet at this point. The last thing I would want for any child is to end up becoming a lab rat, while doctors experiment with different combinations of medicines, etc. From what you've said, your daughter only claims to have seen this ghostly woman 3 times. I honestly don't know what that means, but usually, "sensitives" seem to pretty much claim to see/hear/feel/sense dead people about as often as you or I see the living.... Rolling Eyes

I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility of mental illness, but I would approach it with extreme caution. I would pay close attention and watch out for any other warning signs or symptoms just to be on the safe side. You also have to take into consideration that 12 year olds also tend to have quite the imaginations and they do LOVE to have ghost stories of their own to tell. And still on the other hand, it is quite possible that perhaps your daughter really is seeing this apparition.

I would be a bit concerned about the knocking and the hearing something crawling on the floor though if your daughter says that is happening a lot and yet no one else is hearing any of it. My advice would be for you to setup an audio recorder for a few nights in or around your daughter's bedroom WITHOUT your daughter knowing about it. A digital audio recorder would work best, because you can record way more audio on them than you could with a cassette recorder. They are also a lot smaller and easier to hide and a lot more convenient for reviewing your recordings, etc.

I know this probably isn't a lot of help and you are most likely just as confused now as you were before you came to our forum, but there is a lot of investigating you can do on your own, which should pretty much answer most of your questions before you jump to any conclusions either way.

A couple more questions come to mind:

- Does your daughter normally express a lot of interest or fascination with ghosts and the paranormal or the occult?

- Does she watch any of the paranormal television shows on a regular basis, such as "Ghost Hunters", "A Haunting", "Most Haunted" or "Paranormal State"?

- Does your daughter have strong religious beliefs?

If you could possibly have your daughter type out EVERY detail about the experiences she has had (especially about each time she saw the ghostly woman), that would be awesome. Then you could copy/paste it here for us, which would give us a lot more insight. If you do this, please just tell her to be as specific and detailed as she possibly can and to include EVERY little detail from the beginning until the end of every experience, no matter how irrelevant or insignificant it may seem.

Hello, Sorry Aedryan, to interrupt your investigation and course of questioning. But I have a few questions myself.

Alice, The most important thing I would like to say is that You should look into the history of the house before you even think about any options too rational.

Ask your daughter as much information she can give you. IF she is uncomfortable talking inside the house, please by all means take her out to a diner and interview her on what she is seeing.

Try to gather as much information about the person she is seeing. If you would like I would be happy to review local internet records on the town and area around your house.

now to my Basic Evaluation of your case.

The most interesting with this case is that no one else in the house is seeing or hearing any of this. It's only your daughter who hears this.

1. How old is your Daughter?
-based on her age she may be what most paranormal specialists call a Indigo Child, Or If she is very young a crystal Child.
- some ways you can tell if someone is a crystal Child is that a crystal child is said to have very big eyes. A crystal child is also able to see colorful auras around a person. The same goes for an Indigo Child in the ability to be psychic.

2. Have you ever thought that your daughter may be psychic?
- Some parents find that it can be impossible for their offspring to be psychic at any age under 16. However this idea is very false. -Children have been proven to be psychic as early as birth.
-Some indigo children and crystal children are able to even speak to people before they are born.
-Some children even project to their mother what they will look like when born through dreams.

sorry it has taken so long to reply. My daughter hasn't mentioned seeing her or hearing anything in her room since i let the dogs stay in there with her. So i have not been worrying too much about it. ok to answer your questions she is 12
does not watch most haunted or any other true ghost story shows
she does not practice the occult
we believe strongly in God
history of the house, my parents gave me the house, we are the only ones that have lived here, the land has been in the family for at least 70+ years, id have to ask my grandmother exactly how many
i have not asked her to write everything down because i dont want her to worry too much about it
i wouldnt mind letting anyone look into the history around my home, but i just dont want anyone who knows us to find out about this well because it does sound crazy to most people like i said i have not even mentioned it to my husband but i did ask him if he has ever seen anything strange here and he said no and if he did he wouldnt live here lol
i dont think she has very big eyes just beautiful almond shaped blue eyes
the dream projecting is strange i didnt have any dreams like that i would only dream that she would be a girl and thats probably because i wanted a girl ; )

I believe you may have a medium in your family.

I know that I will probably be questioned by Aedryan, or even Frank for this.

but I suggest you bring your daughter to a psychic or another medium and try and get a more in depth information about her.

I also suggest that you look into the history around your home and the land around it.

If you wouldn't mind would you please PM me the state and town in which you live in And I will look into some history of the area if you like.

it's all up to you. if you do not trust a stranger then that is fine.

my personal conclusion is that you seek a psychic about your daughter's potential abilities.
