Well, a life-long friend of my family passed away a couple of days ago and I attended her funeral today. But, that is not the purpose of this post. The thing about it that I find extremely interesting is, like many people i've heard about, who are in their final hours, only an hour or two before she took her last breath, she was starring up at the ceiling with her eyes wide open and holding her arms out, while calling out to pretty much every one of her deceased family members and talking to them (about 8 or 10 of them). She kept mentioning people in white hats as well....
I've heard of others doing the same thing just before they die A LOT and being someone who has a lot of doubts and uncertainties about an after life, i've always found it really intriguing. So, I thought it would make for an interesting discussion here at the forum. What do you guys think? Do you think she was really seeing her deceased family members, waiting for her in the bright white light, etc, like ya hear about so much? -OR- Do you think that since she had been on her death bed for quite awhile and had undoubtedly been thinking about her deceased loved ones a lot, her sub conscience had a lot to do with it, etc? Possibly a combination of her sub conscience and her brain shutting down?
This is so common that the doctors had even told my aunt (she was my aunt's room mate and she has been taking care of her through her final days) that one of the warning signs that the end is very near would be when she starts calling out for deceased loved ones....

I think your mind is only partially tapped into,
What we chose to believe is our ability to make it to the next life. (If you chose to believe nothing well so be it - But if I chose to believe relatives are waiting then good)
Yes it has been proven by the near dead that they see,, I have seen many elders die and been with them.
Ofcourse there is more, If there wasnt we would all give up now.
Ps, not to mention the spirits I have seen.

Yes, aedryan, i do believe she was seeing her relatives. I my bestfriend's husband passed away on Jan. 8th. And we were all there until the end. He was doing the same thing at the end right before the fish out of water breathing took over, and he lost all motor function, and ability to speak. if this person had hospice care, there is a booklet that will tell you this. I do believe that at this time, the one's getting ready to pass, (just like the booklet says), have one foot in and one foot out. Death does suck. My condolences.

I can happily say that i've never watched a person die. i can only imagine how painful it must be to endure.
i believe death is worst for the living, caring people left behind, than to the victim. To die, i think, would not be fearful, but peaceful. Exciting i think, would be a more suitable word for such an adventure.
but to rattle on about death is not the purpose of this topic, so more to the point;
those people who seems to have seen their relatives on their deathbed must have had a powerful aura to attract multiple spirits at such a point in time when their body was perhaps at its weakest.
i think that spirits are attracted by auras... perhaps at the point of death you emitt your last remaining energy by sending an aura that is easily sensed as strong, consuming the person's feeble form.
im not sure if im making sense so bear with me...
at this attraction, past relatives of the person would gather around and perhaps explain that death is yet another adventure and not something to fear. the men in white hats might refer to something in the person's past, such as a wedding or other such events...
...i use elipses waaaay to much...
a-n-y-waysss... i do believe that the human mind is the most powerful tool we shall ever find (other than that of some undiscovered life form) and is not to be underestimated. such viewings could be a figment of imagination, true spirits, or a combination of both.
id like to believe that the spirits were present and speaking with the soon-to-be-deceased, but the human mind no doubtably played a part, whether in sending out an aura or simply being able to percieve such beings when they are invisable to the majority of human beings.
nether the less. death is unquestionably a very interesting period which is yet to be explored by the living. is it that which makes some fear? or is it what awaits you... a tunnel of light? a pit of fire?... or neither.
perhaps we are afraid or purgatory.
i give my deepest condolences to the families and friends who have lost loved ones. may hope and fearlessness fill your days. |

I just wanted to let you guys know that I added a poll to this discussion. I thought it would be interesting. And Whisper, yes, Hospice was hanging around like the Grim Reaper during her last few weeks. After some time passes, I will get some more details my aunt about what Hospice told her and about her room mate's final hours, etc.
Not to be morbid or anything, but I have always wanted to have the opportunity to document a few people's deaths (as much as I hate death!). It would be very interesting to see if any sort of paranormal activity could be obtained at the moment of ones death. For instance; I wonder what would happen if we were monitoring a person's electromagnetic energy at the time of their death? Do you think it would be possible to actually track it leaving the person's body at the time of death? I wonder where it would go....

Hey Hey Hey....Party People!!! Well let me just say it's nice to see everyone still got there thinking caps!!lol
Ok so yeah i do think that they do have some sort of gateway vision if you like to the paranormal world and i will explain why ...
My cousin who was only 7 at the time of her death left this world rather suddenly, she drowned at the local beach...where there was life guards on duty and her dad was a fit young man and still no one could see it coming...She was ducking under the waves when all of a sudden she didn't come back up....she was only under water for about 1 min before someone yanked her out of the ocean. Only she was no longer breathing and as much as they tired to bring her back she was gone. Now in the days leading up to that horrible day at the beach, she claimed to her mother that she could see a "angel" or something sitting above her bed and that she wasn't scared and that she would be fine. My aunty passed it off as her imagination as most children her age have quite large imaginations. So in the answer to your question Aedryan yes I believe that they can see that world…I think it helps them to deal to that there time is coming…and even if it’s because they are loosing it, I would personally rather know that I was going to be with people that I loved and know that have passed then think about that fact I am leaving everything dear to me here!!!
Anyway that’s my 2cents…..
See ya when ya bum cracks
