Hi all! I'm here with another story to tell! Sorry if this might be a bit on the long side, I don't want to confuse any one or make it jumbled and leave things out. Any ways, I hope you like it and will encourage you to keep your minds open!
Since I was little I have seen and interacted with ghosts. My childhood was as such that I was encouraged to believe in them and talk with them. I was never sure (as a kid) if I was right or not, but the following event helped solve that for me. My roomate at the time invited me and her friend Michelle up to her home in Northern California. She said her house was haunted, and wanted to know what I thought. She told me that she thought the ghost was a woman because her sister had seen a woman's skirts go by the door out of the corner of her eye in the hall when she knew she was alone.
I agreed and up for an 8 hour drive we went! By the time we got to her two storied house in the middle of the woods it was three in morning. I 'felt around' and didn't feel a thing, which was a little disappointing. We went up stairs to the computer room, which was a room that faced you when you came up the stairs. I was sitting down in a chair when I felt it. a presence making its way up the stairs. Very shyly a voice said 'hello' in my mind. I didn't want to deal with it and said under my breath, 'I'm tired, not right now.' and it quickly left, as if embarassed.
The next day was fine, but then came the night. Michelle and I shared a bed, and had the door closed. It was one in the morning when we finally got tired and had just stopped talking when we heard the distinct sound of heels walking up the stairs. We both froze as the feet made their way to the carpet and it paused at our door. Michelle grabbed my hand and we both looked at the handle, and hoping whatever it was wouldn't open the door. The footsteps then continued down the hall and we both sagged against our pillows (we'd sat up).
Michelle said "well...maybe it was the dog?" Ironically, not a few seconds later we heard the dog downstairs, its tiny nails clicking on the hardwood floors. I informed Michelle it wasn't the dog. Besides that nothing else happened and I was worried I'd scared her off. But as we were driving home (Annie, my roommate driving, I in the front)Annie said something and suddenly images and feelings came flooding in, like a black and white movie with sound. I told Annie to remember whatever it was I said.
In these images I saw a young woman who'd fallen in love with a man who was going out west (they were in Boston there-around) and wanted her to come. he left and she followed. She'd been from a well to-do family and took her nice clothing, jewels, and some money and left. When she arrived at the logging/mining town, the man wasn't there. She couldn't go home, she'd be shunned, and so she managed to live in the only place a woman could; a brothel.
She became quite popular as she was pretty (and so were her dresses). She could pick and chose who she wanted. One night a drunk man came upstairs and pounded on the door, wanting in. She opened the door and said 'no, not tonight, I'm tired and your drunk.' he denied it and tried to grab her. Growing mad she left the room calling for the mistress of the establishment. The man grabbed her two more times, her pushing him away. On the third time she didn't look where shewas going and missed the step, falling down.
She would have been alright, except on the second to last step her neck caught on the stairs and she broke it, dying instantly. I awoke from this trance like state and Annie had pulled over, pale and shaking. "Are you sure?" She said. "Yes." I said. She then informed me she didn't want to tell me anything to see if I was 'for real'. Turns out, the place WAS a brothel and the woman HAD died by breaking her neck on the stairs. And she liked to sit on Annie's bed as a child and stroke her hair, terrifying her. (Her mother had bad hips and couldn't make the trek upstairs)
I wasn't completely surprised by her informing me of this, after all, there are a LOT of fakes out there. And I felt really grateful that I could help her (There's been no ghostly entities since then).I think the ghost simply wanted someone to know her story, and make sure she was remembered, that was what it felt like to me any ways.
I hope this story has inspired you to not think every one claiming to be 'sensitive' is a charlatan or crazy, as I am quite rational and use both scientific and 'medium' like means. You can't be in this business without acceptance of either of them. And of course, that you enjoyed the story^_^. |

| Maralight, I loved the story, I always wondered what it would be like to be sensitive to ghost's. I think now that it must be quite special to get to know them, and their storys. It must be nice in a way to see, and feel the history of who they were. |

I'm glad I could supply it for you^__^. Being a medium is fun--and sometimes not. I really love being able to help spirits move on, you get such a sense of pride knowing that not only is the spirit at peace, but so are the families.
On the down side, you 'stick out' so to speak in the spirit world, and if you're near, all sorts will come at you because 'you can see/hear them'. And sometimes you have to deal with angry spirits. Those are the worst.
But all in all its not so bad, and like you said, learning history (if you encounter older spirits) is really interesting, especially if you can go back into newspapers etc and find out you were right, and therefore NOT crazy. Hehe. |
